You know, I've been hearing constant complaints about how people hate buying albums now because they only like a few songs on the disc. I have a feeling from my own experience that this is more likely an issue with how they choose music than the overall state of CDs these days.
Perhaps those of you who feel this way should reevaluate why you like those songs in the first place and why only that part of a musician's catalog appeals to you, rather than blame the musician for not making them all along the same lines.
I keep hearing this argument, yet I never see it myself. I wouldn't call the music I listen to mainstream, but it's not like I do the indie thing either, where the less know a band is, the better it is in your opinion.
Or it might be that I listen to the overall thematics of an album rather than separate it into independent chunks as I listen.
