Hey all. Thought I'd share a video of my quartet's first competition. Why? Eh, why not?
Anyway, my quartet's name is HIT and we competed at the SoCal East Division contest last May nabbing 2nd place. Not bad for our first time out.
Here's the fun part: we were three points away from first place (not percentage points, actual points). As it happened, we were docked 3 points because our arrangement of Old Kentucky Home didn't have enough seventh chords in it.
So, had we sung a proper arrangement, we would have tied with the first place quartet and the decision would have went to the singing scores. Had that happened, we would have won easily as our singing scores (77 and 78) were much higher.
It was a fun contest and a great first appearance for my quartet. The below link is a video of our second song. Bryan's wife arrived late and missed the first number.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video. It's not perfect (far from it) but I'm proud of it.
