I'm just figuring this one out, since Barack Obama is typically for net neutrality. But then I come across VP pick Biden's history with technology-related legislations. Biden has fought for years trying to censor the internet.

these pro-copyright views don't exactly jive with what Obama has promised; he's pledged to "update and reform our copyright and patent systems to promote civic discourse, innovation and investment while ensuring that intellectual property owners are fairly treated." These are code words for taking a more pro-EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) than pro-MPAA approach.

Some highlights on his experience

-asked Congress to spend $1 billion to monitor p2p
-Two Biden bills have been explicitly anti-encryption(which without encryption the FBI could easily read people's emails)
-He has expressed support for internet taxes and internet filtering in schools and libraries.
-Biden sponsored a bill that would restrict recording of songs from satellite and net radio, and another one that would make it a felony to "trick" a computer into playing back unauthorized songs or running bootlegged videogames. He is all about the RIAA
-Tries to take credit for the Patriot Act
-Biden was one of just four senators invited to attend a celebration of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act

While some of these points do make sense in protecting the intellectual rights of artists. But could this also be the first steps to invading our privacy? This gets me divided on the Obama/Biden ticket.
