Who – Well its just me, Awol, owner and operator of PureGamer. I’ve been a gamer for many many years (Started on the old Pong machine).
What – I will be doing a live video stream of Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). You will see and hear whatever I see and hear.
When – The live stream will probably start earlier and last later but I am only going to promise the actually show floor time. Which are as follows. If battery power lasts I will then more to the LAN Party room and walk around.
Friday, August 29th 2pm - 7pm PDT
Saturday, August 30th 10am - 6pm PDT
Sunday, August 31st 10am - 6pm PDT
Where – The live stream will be found at [url]http://www.puregamer.com/PAX[/url] . I will be filming the PAX Exhibit Hall Floor at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center, which is conveniently located in downtown Seattle, Washington. If I have battery power and time I will also head into the LAN Party part of the show and film there (if they allow me to enter with my setup).
Why – Why Not?! I have always wanted to go to the bigger game shows for the longest time. Until recently I never had the money or the time to actually go to them. Feeling for those who can’t go for whatever reason I decided I will give you the next best thing and do a live stream of the show. You will see what I see and do. Don’t worry I will try my best to cover everything going on and will be recording the better parts of the show, which I will upload after the show so there will be a better quality video.
How – Well I have a nice little laptop with many batteries, a 3G cellphone which can tether to my laptop, and a decent DV video camera. I will be connecting everything to the laptop and stream the footage live through UStream.tv. Then I will carry all of this around as I walk the show floor. You will see and hear everything that I can see and hear. I will try to update you all with whats going on and what you are looking at through the live stream. I will also update a schedule of events so you can catch the better parts of the show without having to watch the stream all day long. But I would keep checking the stream all day long you never know what I might be filming.
