So we upgraded to digital cable(at least the version available in the boonies).
So its runs from the DSL modem, to the TVs, the Modem is 70 feet from the box, making it 100-120 feet from the TV in the living room, but this is cat5 and even with 4 connections in the line(crimped,2 for going to the modem 2 going to the TV in the living room) .
They said if I have any trouble with anything they will just pull the cable I put in and put in contentious cabling.
So far theres not much issues I can see, I am 10-15KBPS on net speed lower than I normally run, and theres barely any lagging on the IP TV,it has popped up 3 or 4 times but stopped in a reasonable time.
They say they open up about 10Mbit to the modem...not to the net but to the modem at least you do not rent the modem its free with the 60$ a month 2.0Mbit service, but the IP TV boxs are 3.95 a month.
I really wish my net speed went up but as long as it doesn't drop below 150KBPS I can live.
The IP TV receivers are very small alil under 5inchs wide and as thick as 1.5 inch, its depth is alil under 4 inchs...the remote is not to bad.. you have to switch to devices to turn them on or off but you have volume control tot he TV in IP receiver mode, its not bad but probably not worth 140 a month with the 2.0Mbit DSL and phone.
