I want to thank Kurisu for this idea. Over in the Introduction thread, Kurisu mentioned Deus EX and political commentary by a character in the game. That's when something :: clicked :: in my brain.
Ok, treat this as a reality, movie based, casual simulation game. You might be able to treat it as a reality educational tool as well. But it's a particular aspect of the simulation that makes it a game. Ok, remember that it's a CASUAL game, no explosions or shooting. :)
Think: Barbershop ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303714/ )
The reality simulation part is to actually learn to cut hair in the various styles available. This part actually might be GREAT for the Wii motes.
You also have the business financial aspect to be played. Proper equipment to be maintained. Supplies to be purchased. Rent for the chair. Being paid. Etc.
You also have the music to choose (and if it's out loud, the personalities of the other barbers).
AND... you have Eddie (Cedric the Entertainer). This is where the political conversations come in. Naturally, he's chattering on about important issues, antagonizing the other barbers and even the customers. GREAT background stuff. Personally, he made the entire movies worth it. And it would be nice to update his work from time to time as well, if possible. Kinda like have the talk radio from GTA or Saint's Row (which sadly DOESN'T get updated so it's starting to get old now).
I think it's a pretty simplistic game to make. But still would be a nice moderate to play and learn from. Not to mention hear some great commentary.
