Alright, music discussers... Let's discuss music.
I've recently been really getting into Nine Inch Nails (I know, I'm a little late...) I got The Downward Spiral out of reccomendation (And the fact that I had previously heard and enjoyed the movie-soundtrack songs "Burn" and "The Perfect Drug") a while back, and adore it. I just got Broken in the mail today, and it's pretty good so far.
I blind-bought (deaf-bought?) an album from Godhead, but it hasn't arrived yet. They are apparently in the vein of NiN and Marilyn Manson (and Manson even signed them to his short-lived label a while back) so I'm pretty confident that I'll like them.
I've also been listening to the soundtracks to El Topo and The Holy Mountain, both of which came in the Alejandro Jodorowsky DVD boxset... In addition to being an awesome film-director and comic-writer, Jodorowsky is a pretty good composer. He's no Danny Elfman or Mark Snow, but it's still some good atmospheric music that fits each scene... The Holy Mountain track "**** Machine" is so hilarious because, if you haven't seen the movie to know what it's supposed to sound like, it's extremely WTF-inducing.... And even if you have seen the movie, the track is really funny because you know what it's supposed to sound like. (For those who haven't seen the movie, IE, everyone here, the scene has a computer having an orgasm)
So... Discuss music, people.
