Next generation of cheat devices

MS started the 6th gen of gaming(last gen) with a lock down on cheat devices, to mainly protect their MP games, however this has destroyed my interest in the Xbox brand without a cheat device to balance mediocre games to fun there is lil to no reason to play them, the WII is heading in that direction, sony might as well too since its the worst of the lot when it comes to DRM, however the storm will pass and leave us with 1 of 2 choices.

Choice 1 is a old choice ,gray area after market devices that non of the corporate monopolies can destroy easily, however the market for such things has waned and the price V cost issues simply can not sustain it so whats left you ask?

With streaming servers and protected lines of data cheat devices can come back into play the question is will the over protective corporations let companies build DRM friendly cheat devices that wont work online the answer is yes, if the moeny is right, and thats the problem the cheat device market has always been just poor enough to afoard new versions of itself without breaking the bank and where things are headed they will need not only money but the aid of the console maker as well....

This is how I envision it you get network code and build a program that is protected from itself and built to either disable the network or will not function with it on it can be made but the costs are just to much for your average peripheral/device maker.

Its becoming clear the console makers them selfs need to step into the cheat device market, the policing and work involed to do it is something only they can handle however they can't even give consumers choice when it comes to controller reconfiguration or using keyboard and mouse on any game you wish, the lack of options keeps them in total power and control over monetary flow around their lines of accessories and peripherals so they will be hard pressed to change their ways anytime soon.

So whats happens to us the gamers that like to make a crappy game enjoyable via cheating are we pushed into the dark with everything else gray area because they can not effect change?

I dunno I do know MS wont change its stance on cheat devices and saves are sad in comparison, Nin and sony has not yet deiced on it, if they do but a end to cheating I will just put off all new game/console buying for 5 years untill the cheat device market is revitalized in some way....

On a side note who would pay 25$ a year to have their device fully updated?
I think their are pay services here untaped if the cheat device makers could make a deal with the console makers to get in a yearly fee everyone would be making money and the online aspect of games controlled leaving everyone happy, but again with the march on user rights and the near infinite copy rights could create a draconian system where each CP/IP holder would have to ok soemthign as simple as a cheat....

I see where we should go where we should be but so much uncertainty and greed blocks my sight, certainly heavy investments and deals will need to be made to bring it to fruition.

In final
Is DRM locked cheating the only road that can be walked as gaming grows in technology?
Could something as simple as a deal to police codes and devices be enough to free the cheat device market?

I really think it will be a mix of the 2 if at all,prehaps in the 8th generation they will look away from media sales and hardware gimmicks and create a network infrastructure that will allow cheating flags so cheat devices could work and be approved by the console makers however again this will have to be done from the top down, and change for the better rarely starts at the top...

My heart goes out to all the cheat device makers, their staff and families to make a buck in this filed you have to be stern and harsh and protect what lil you can of your brand it might seem cold and callus on the outside to limit code talk, tradeing and even functionality of the device itself(new datel products) but its a sign the indutry is falling and things are getting worse, its the calm before the storm ends.
