If you find yourself tainted by a self centered “me” world and have lost hope that anyone does anything for anyone other than themselves, attend “JUSTIN TAYLOR’S BROADWAY REVIEW SHOW,” Friday, October 19, 2007 at 8:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Encino and witness this extraordinary, uplifting event. An entire community plans to honor and celebrate the life of a young boy who needs help adjusting to his ever-changing and growing needs.

Justin Taylor lives with and is being raised by his grandma, Roxie Taylor. He is a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he is loved dearly by his congregation. Approximately two years ago, Justin was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. He has since become one of Jerry Lewis’ kids and appeared on the well-known MDA telethon just this passed Labor Day. If you viewed his segment, you would agree -- he is adorable. (Justin can be adorable even when he is unable to speak, which he was unable to do when interviewed on TV with all those lights shining in his face.) He is now completely confined to a wheelchair but regardless, his spirit could not be more full and rich with joy. His grandma reads stories from the Bible to him each night before he goes to sleep.

But Justin and his grandma Roxie are having difficulties keeping up financially with the changes that are necessary to help him continue living a somewhat normal life. They need a more efficient vehicle to take Justin from here to there and have no means to purchase it on their own. This event will give each of us an opportunity to pull together as a loving, supportive community and help someone who could sure use it.

October 19 at 8:00 pm, Bethel Theatre Encino, a new theatre troupe in the valley, is throwing young Justin a party at Bethel and they’re calling it “JUSTIN TAYLOR’S BROADWAY REVIEW SHOW.” Admission is free but come with your pockets full because they will be strongly encouraging everyone to give to this great cause. It will be an event for the entire family, so you can actually bring your kids! And what a great thing for our children to witness – a community selflessly pulling together in a time of need.

“JUSTIN TAYLOR’S BROADWAY REVIEW SHOW” will have a lineup of entertainers who have performed in the musical theater on the west coast, as well as New York City. Most of the songs performed will be from Broadway Musicals. A young Emme Boddicker will be singing, “The Sun Will Come Out, Tomorrow” from the musical Annie, Bill Lewis will sing “Corner of the Sky” from Pippin, Asunta and Olivia Fleming, a mother and daughter team, will sing “Impossible” from Cinderella and if you attend, you will hear Melanie Ewbank’s rendition of “For Good” from the new hit musical Wicked. Plus the world renowned Barbershop Quartet HIT!, will be singing “I Will Go Sailing No More” from Toy Story and a whole lot more. A fun-filled evening fit for the entire family with delicious refreshments served at intermission.

Young Justin will be participating in all the festivities and enjoying the best seat in the house – front row center.
