OK in case you don't recognize it this is the Fresco painted at the top of Dome of the Capital in Washington, D.C. It was painted there in 1865 when the Dome was expanded.

Now why am I bringing attention to this? I was watching a HD C-Span (yes I have no life) show on Movies on Demand the other night. When it was showing the fresco and describing it, well I found it amusing.
In our "Christian" nation, a painter less that 100 years after the founding decided to depict the nation's first President, not ascending into heaven with the Christian God, but ascending into heaven with Grecian/Roman gods, as one of them. Washington himself is sitting beside Liberty & Victory
Anyways everyone on here should know I find things like this ironic, and I feel the need to share.
