Titanic director James Cameron and Canadian filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici say they aren't trying to undermine Christianity in their new documentary that claims the remains of Jesus, his wife, Mary Magdalene, and their child have been found.
Oscar-winner Cameron and Gemini-winner Jacobovici unveiled two limestone boxes they believe once contained the remains of Jesus and Mary Magdalene during a news conference Monday at the New York Public Library....
Six of the ten limestone boxes were inscribed with names that could be translated as Jesus, Mary, Matthew, Joseph, Mary Magdalene and Judah, son of Jesus, said Jacobovici.
They claim the boxes have the same coatings as the "James" box, which was proven to have a fraudulent inscription on it. They also say they did DNA testing, but they don't give any details as to what they compared them to...
Sounds to me like they're just trying to cash in on the profits of "The DaVinci Code".
The Lost Tomb of Christ airs on Discovery on Sunday and on Canada's Vision TV on March 6.
I'm surprised it's on Vision. It must be a pretty neutral documentary. Vision is a "multi-faith" channel, they show docs from all faiths/religions. The Naked Archeologist is my fav, and Jacobovici is the host, so this doc might not be that bad....
