My partner and I are doing our American Culture Project on video game violence. Our goal is to make a conclusion on our culture based on the reaction and content of violent video games. This is an investigative paper in which we actually try to reach an unbiased conclusion of what this topic tells us about the American people. If anyone here could please give me your honest opinion on any of the following questions it would greatly assist us in our investigation. Answer as few or as many questions as you like.

Q: What are your general thoughts and reaction on violence in video games?

Q: Why do you think this violence is so popular?

Q: Are video games the cause of recent problems (school shootings for example)?

Q: Is this similiar to other forms of censorship?

Q: Is violence, especially the more graphic and hectic ones, harmful to minors? If so, can it even be harmful to adults who play them?

Q: How would you characterize society’s reaction to violence in video games? Is ours different from those of other countries?

Q: What are your opinions on the number of legislation which have been passed throughout the country regulating these games? And what would you do if you could regulate games?

Q: Is there a conclusive (or even a casual) link between actual violence and playing violent video games?

Q: Does the adding of violence add any additional depth, realism, or surrealism to the game?

Q: Do you play violent games? And if so, what do you find appealing about them? If not, why don’t you?
