A lockdown at a northwestern Alberta high school with 1,600 students was lifted Thursday after a police search failed to find a weapon involved in a gun scare.
Police said no one at Grande Prairie Composite High School was hurt and a suspect was in custody.
Principal Rick Gilson said a 17-year-old youth, who is not a student at the school, entered the building just before 10 a.m. and started talking to a girl.
Gilson said the girl discovered the youth had a handgun and told school officials. A school administrator managed to apprehend the youth and held him until RCMP arrived.
Sounds to me like a case of some kid trying to act tough to impress the girl...
