Has anyone else seen the PS3 ad where the console is in the middle of a white room and the console melts, spreading across the room?

In the commercial, the ad indicates that games are rated "RP to M".

Is Sony:
A. Not acknowledging the existance of AO rated games
B. Implying that AO rated games are not playable on the PS3
C. Implying that they will not accept the creation of PS3 games rated AO
D. Other

D. Other.

So far, an AO game has not been made. At least until hentai games make their way stateside.

It's also Other because you might just be looking into it too much.

Sony wont announce AO rated games on TV (otherwise antigamers will exclaim with lust and fanfare that the advertised AO games are being directly marketed to children.)

E. A and not realizing RP is not a rating, but rather the absence of a rating while the game is actually rated.

That's kinda like an A. Although it's not necessarily "denying" they exist but rather that they aren't "acknowledging" they exist.
Semantics, sure, but then, I'm usually up for some. :)

I find the commercials in general irritating.

I made my brother spray soda when we saw the commerical where the eggs hatch into crows. When I saw this I said "So not only does it play Next Gen games, have a HD, backwards compatability and Blue tooth it can also double for an incubator?"

Sorta like how the 360 can make people jump rope in real life. Or make an entire train station suddenly become a war zone, only without guns but deadly fingers.

I love that commercial. Even the part where the guy is finger-shooting the cabbie while he's on the phone, who signals for him to wait. talks a second or two to finish the call, calmly hangs up then pretends to be shot.

very funny. Wasn't that commercial banned or something?

I like that commerical as well. I think it was banned because everyone is still scared of terrorism.

But I was just applying Demon's logic to the 360 commericals as well.

Or like how it can spontaneously start a water ballon fight between thousand of kids in the city. I was like "WTF does water ballons have to do with the 360?"

AO is for porn games its to late its been stigmatized.
they need to just go ahead a implement a better laired setup around the 3 main "age" groupings.

Kids
non violent games for under 6 this can be applied to most puzzle games
action kids games with basic violence like Zelda age range around 6 -9
10-12 for more matured themed games like FF6

Teens
13-15 like PG13
16-17 like "R" with a focus on violence over sexuality (God of war and GTA could fit,Vampire blood lines has more over the top stuff in it thus it gets a 18)

Adults
18+ for games that are to sexy or overly violent
22+ for "porn" games

22 seems a bit arbitrary, considering that in most of the country you can buy porn at 18.

Ture but once you add up all the state laws 20ish is what you come to,altho some cities might ban it thus removing the need for such a high age limit since it would not be easy to find locally.

while 22 is a bit steep it could be in "porn" games interest to show that they are harder to get.

Since porn games would fall under porn laws trying to balance out the age reqs can be tricky.

While 4 years past 18 don't mean dick the laws can be funny to try separate porn and violence like this might help whenever the industry is willing to fully expect porn games.
