That show was a joke the first time.

I'm guessing its going to do what the other mainstream game awards have done and focus on the games that the general public might have heard of rather then the ones that people actually play.

How did they choose the winners? Anyone know? Cause if it's viewer voting, that might explain why most of the games that won (Scarface, for example), won so much.

But if it's viewer-based voting, that'll explain it. It's just like the Teen Choice Awards or MTV Movie/Music awards, where all the popular garbage get the stuff.

But it was funny seeing the people who worked on these games there. They all came in formal wear, like it were the Oscars or Emmys or Grammys.

I can't wait to see a Grammy-like award show for videogames. But it'll probably be a behind-the-scenes award show. It'll probably never be broadcasted outside of G4 Tech TV or something like that. You can't really attach any celebrities to it to have Joan Rivers interview on the red carpet...

Anyway, I didn't watch it this year. I watched some of it once, and I thought it was joke, like Steel said. One thing that annoyis me is they have random celebrities who have nothing to do with video games showing up and trying to talk like they know something about them. Between Spike and G4, I'm still waiting for a game awards show that doesn't suck.

Ah. Compared to my younger brother, everyone I've sparred with in Combatives was weak and had no clue how to be creative about the holds and breaks. You'd be amazed what a little pressure on a joint in the wrong direction does.

and it mostly just hurts unless you apply too much force, but your opponent will have tapped before that point.

Trash. Utter trash. Spike is what G4 is trying to become. I preferred it when it was general technology channel. Now it is losing good shows, wait they did that right after the merger. I wish they would lose the "TV for gamers" Slogan. Then again Gphoria is utter crap too.

God. I'm never watching the channel again, since they are doing coverage of CES then the Adult entertainment trade show. God, just the trash needed to reinforce gamer stereotypes.

Not to mentio nthey have shows like Street Fury, where we hardly see a car with a game consoel in it ,and all "Big C"[tell me that guy isn't compoensatign and I'll sell you a bridge] the shows is like 10% cars and 90% him oggling half naked girls.

G4 is currently a mix of things mostly viaing for the attentions of sex depraved wannabes or teen males in any case it needs to die,as bad as Spike is I see it in a slightly better light but not by much.

*tunes in, watches for a minuit*
"Well, this is stupid load of crap."
*changes channel*

No really, all I saw was dull, stupid humor from a steriotypcial ebonics-spewing comedian and a woman wearing a genesis for no apparent reason. We're not exactly talking quality TV here.

I decided not to watch after the first awards show, I had hope it would be about the games that were played. No it was just media whorage to games that didn't deserve the awards. I mean the only reason Tony Hawk won the first title of Best Game of the Year was because he was there promoting his **** "Boom Boom Huck Jam" Tour. So when I hear it is going to be on I make sure to do what I always do, Not watch Spike...I only watch it when MXC is on when I am bored all other times I am infront of my PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast or PC playing some sort of game. Speaking of PC, I recently came in possession of a new one, seeing as this is the first recent computer I have had in a while can anyone suggest games I should look into. Yes I know about half-life and Fear :D

I dunno HL2 is annoying and unpolished....

Mmmmmm deus ex 2 is as bad....prey is alright but meh nothing screams of polish and greatness least nothing I can think of.
