Sony launched way too early. They really should have waited until january or feb when they'd have at least 2 dozen more units. As it is they are being spanked by Miyamamoto and his buddies.

I knew the wii outsold the ps3 but I had no idea the margin was this large.

Keep in mind that the 360 is still way ahead of both of them, purely because it launched first. It's still too early to tell who's winning the console war.

Nintendo says they plan to sell 4 million by the end of the year. In the time it's been out, the 360 has sold 6 million or so.

The fact that it's a more expensive machine will weigh against it.

But don't forget, 70% of the 100 million PS2s were sold AFTER Sony dropped the price.

Well here's the choice, which way would you go:

1. spend millions more to make better textures and models so game will look good on high def, then sell to a market consisting of ~200,000 consumers total.

2. spend less money and time on graphics and sell to a market that is 3 times as large with less licensing fees.



mmmm, hard choice that one. I'm guessing 3rd parties in the US and EU will favor (favour in EU) the 360 and wii over the ps3 since most companies like profits.

mmmm, hard choice that one. I'm guessing 3rd parties in the US and EU will favor (favour in EU) the 360 and wii over the ps3 since most companies like profits.

Don't forget the remote aspect. As a programmer, I'm certain that a lot of game makers will have ideas on how to use it.
