I think that violent video games are taking way too much heat without representation in the government. Does anyone know of any pro-game politicians.

Well, I dont seem to recall anyone in the Canadian government being AGAINST video games. In fact, some provinces have gotten tax breaks, or something like that, for developing video games. However they might change their tune after the launch of the PS3 turned a little red.

Imagine if there were pro gamer politicians.
Sen. Dobson: let me just address these accusations at once: I did not camp that spawn, nor did I ever use a wall-hack. However, I think we are owed an explanation from my opponent with regards to in game footage which was recently discovered on youtube that clearly shows him ninja looting some epic items.
Sen. Clearwater: that was not me! That was my little little brother!
Sen. D: O RLY?
Sen. C: Ya RLY.
American Public: DO NOT WANT!

In France, I'm not sure there are "pro-game" politicians (except maybe our Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, who is reallly enthusiast about the subject). But there are many "game-friendly" ones.

The problem with being pro-gamer is what it implies.
Think of it like this: Anti-gamers always describe themselves as protecting children from so-called "violent, pornographic, content" in videogames, and how their going to stop the sales of these inappropriate games to minors. This means that anyone who stands against them would be implying that they are for said "violent, pornographic, content" in children's videogames and *endorse* the sale of inappropriate games to minors.
Thanks to those implications, openly fighting them is suicide ("you don't want to protect out children?"). So if there's any pro-gaming politicians out their. They're probably pretty quiet about it pubically.

Well its quite easy for a pro-gamer. The anti-gamers have said many times that the American public is too stupid to raise children, and that children are too stupid to make decisions. So, the pro would say to the anti “Hey I got a great idea, why don’t we have the children you wish to protect make the desistion. Oh wait that’s right you think they are too stupid.” At which time you have the anti possibly try to defend with something like “No I never said the children are stupid, some children are quite bright.” Pro would then say, “Well then you should have no complaint with having the children vote.” Chances are that this would continue for some time.

Audra Strickland. I hope.

No it isn't if they had more insight about games and would put some effort into their campaigns, as children and violence are only hypocritical excuse for spreading hatred, racism and intolerance towards those who don't fit in their monolithic idea of society...but I think main reason why there aren't any pro-game politicians is that many politicians don't have enough experience with games to look upon them objectively.
