Funniest game kills/deaths

I saw a thread like this in the Dark Messiah Forums (you will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy :D) and so I thought I'd make one here.

We've all played games where you get to witness a death (either an enemies or your own) which actually made us laugh. it might be the Combine soldier who glitches in the wall and appears to be dancing, it might be the Goblin in Severance who runs at you across the map oblivious to the gaping chasm before you or it could be that you decided to see just how explosive that barrel really was at close range. So, tell us here, the pixelated deaths that have amused you.

For me recently I was playing Dark Messiah decapitating goblins when one of them screamed and ran away...only to trip over his best friends recently removed head and fall over the bridge to his doom...but I'm sure there are funnier tales then that!

This happened in San Andreas. I was standing under an overpass, had a four star wanted level, all of a sudden "SPLAT." A sheriff landed right next to me.

In Psi Ops, on multiple occasions, with the ragdoll physics, I'd see dead soldiers with hands on their own or each other's crotches and butts.

In Painkiller, I love using the stake gun, but a few times it is mortifying, like when I stuck it in an enemy's crotch, and in one case had them hanging fro mthe ceiling by their head.

Enemy's death in GTA: San Andreas

I had just started a gang war in Los Angeles and was suprised for the first time to see enemy gang members using AK-47s. I managed to take all but three down, and one of the surviving gang members must have been spending some time at the gun range, because he kept hitting me until I had about 30% health. I decide to make a sprint for it across the road, he charges after me for a bit, then I get shot yet again, I'm down to 20% health, when all of a sudden...

Blam blam blam blam!!! beeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE(SQUISH!)EEEEEeeeeeepp ppp....

I turn around to see what happened to my pursurer, and there's a bloodstain on the railroad tracks and an AK-47 spinning around in mid-air. :D

My own death in Unreal II: The Awakening

I had played through Half-Life recently. I'm not sure how many people know about this, but there's a bug/exploit in HL where if you can just barely see an enemy AI and he can't see you, he will stay in one spot while you merrily and slowly shoot him in his barely exposed ankle or whatever. Anyway, I'm in a tunnel, I see an enemy with his back turned on top of on top of a large platform with a ladder. I run under the platform before he spots me, I draw my pistol, line it up with an edge of armor I can just barely see peeking out of a crack between the platform with the wall and take a shot. He disappears. Before I can figure out what happened, he jumps off the platform, lands right night to me with his back turned, spins around and blasts me point blank in the head with his double-barreled shotgun... with incendinary rounds. :eek:

OK, so I didn't find it funny at the time, but it is rather amusing and is one of the few times I've been really impressed with an AI.

I had an amusing (and guilt inducing) accidental kill in the xbox version of Thief 3. I was stalking around a house and I saw a civilian walking around where I wanted to go. So I carefully stalked them, raised my blackjack and then hit them hoping to knock them out...unfortunately they were near a staircase at the time and the knock sent them tumbling down and down a fairly deep drop...needless to say I don't think they came off too good...

I had a similiar experience in 007: Nightfire... hit a guard standing next to a ledge with a tranq dart. He wasn't tranqil for very long.

Sneaking up and knifing a sniper in DoD (Day of Defeat)

In DoD, getting hit with a rocket while in mid-air.

Counter-Strike-Source: Runnig into a room with five enemies, two M249s and 3 Autoshotguns, and getting one HELL of a lot of lead in my body.

Counter-Strike: Source: In a level with low-gravity, I had an autoshottie and an enemy jumped up right in front of me... I gave him 7 rounds of 12-gauge... boomoomoomoomoomoomoom... Big red clud, and he flew about 60 feet before he hit a wall and bounced back

Doing a Kill Frenzy in GTA3. I had to kill a 30 gang members. I was at 29 with seconds left to go, but I couldn't find any living gang members. While I'm frantically searching, the paramedics arrive and manage to bring one of the fallen back to the cusp of life.

This happened in Tribes Vengeance. I was operating a gunship with two gunners when the ship went down and exploded, I saw on the map that our floppy bodies got flung in three different directions, and at least two of us hit the border shields. What fun

I have a ton of these. I'll list a few...

Once, in GTA:SA, I blew up a car from about ten feet away. It went boom, and debris flew everywhere. Before I can walk away, a flaming tire falls out of the sky, bonks me right on the head, and kills me.


On Hitman: Blood Money, I was playing the stage "Dance With The Devil" and rampaging around in the Heaven party, killing partygoers with a cleaver. All of a sudden, a bullet hits me in the back. I flip around, and it's Eve. I quickly chuck it at her from a few feet away, which kills her. I go up to the corpse, and the blade is going straight into her crotch - yowza!

Also in Hitman: Blood Money, I decided to go Kamikaze for some reason. I went to the stage "The Murder Of Crows" and stood out in the crowded street. I dropped a mine at my feet, and, while still standing in the same place, detonated. It looked SO badass - 47 combusts and a bunch of flaming civilians fly back 30 feet, but 47 just stands still, engulfed in flames.... all in slow-mo! It looked so awesome...

In Deus Ex, I was in one of the air bases you go to (I forget which one). I was moderately wounded but not in too much trouble. The problem was at the top of a hangar was a sniper, who would drop me from "moderately wounded" to either "I'm not quite dead" or "Urk! Bleaaah". I knew his general location, but he'd snipe me before I could narrow it down.
The solution? There was a 1 shot LAW Rocket outside the hangar. My character was more of a pistol/sniper type of guy, but some times you just need a bigger stick.

World of warcraft-

So, I'm on top of the inn in sunrock retreat( a low level horde town...perfect for ganking) trying to avoid Youko, a lv60 female tauren shammie,and Tickles, a level 60 male orc hunter. I reached the roof via leaping off a cliff on horseback, and i've favored this position for awile, because i can observe pitiful lowbies, jump down, and murder them. But now, i'm the one being hunted. I realize that when i'm chilling on the roof, and a suddenly get blasted with electricity, and lose hundreds of HP. I quickly run to the other side of the roof and heal myself, and i see Youko running to the same place on ground level. So it's a little wild goose chase, and i manage to avoid her for a long time. But as i rejoice, she jumps on to the roof from the cliff, and two-shots me.

Ouch.

It doesn't end there. I rez INSIDE the Inn, and go to a less-frequented area. From here, i can see the lower floor, and the staircase that leads to the balcony. Youko runs right past me without noticeing. I find this funny. Tickles then comes up the stairs, pauses,and turns around. I /plead, and get killed.


I highly reccomend entering sun rock retreat and killing off any player, lowbie, or civ you can find. The town has many places to hide in, Hunting people down is fun, and it makes for very intresting gameplay when the high levels come to pay back the favor.

The other way he can die is funnier. Basically, save during the fight and don't play MGS for a week. When you come back, he'll be dead.

I'm sure just putting your clock forward an hour (or a day) does it.

My greatest death would be when I single handedly pulled the flag from the enemy base on Waterworks (Halo 2), ran through the teleporter, across the bridge and through the cave only to hear my good friend Bobik scream "I'M COMING, I'LL SAVE YOU" And crush me against the cave wall with a warthog.

Once, in Halo 2, I was running from someone, and got halfway across the map, so they hopped into a Warthog and came after me. I saw them coming, and tossed a plasma grenade, which stuck to its back wheel. It blew while the car was going full-speed, and killed the driver - however, the car flipped forward up into the air, and landed on me before I could react, killing me.

We used to hold a Goldeneye tournament at my friends house back at high school and we used to love the proximity mines (which no game has ever managed to make as fun). It was down to me and one other player who had carefully covered the map in mines and he was heading down the corridor into a dead end. I only had one shot left on my pistol...so I shot the nearest mine. Watching the mine chain reaction head towards the other player as he desperately tried to think of a way out was probably one of the most satisfying multiplayer victories ever...until he lobbed that grenade at me...

Return to Castle Wolfenstein and my first experience of suprising AI. Coming up from a cellar and seeing a group of nazi's talking, I jumped up and threw a grenade...only to have them run forward and kick it back into my hiding spot. After the explosion ended I just sat there staring at my screen completely shellshocked!

I knew one guy who'd put prox mines on the ceiling, or smash boxes and put the mine so the box would spawn around it.

I once managed to score "Pancake" (crushing someone from above with a vehicle) with a Hellbender (a large, 3-man jeep). In Aggressive Alleys, I was pulling the Hellbender out of the sublevel garage it spawns in. As I was going up the ramp, an enemy runs to the top of the ramp and starts shooting me. The main seat in the Hellbender doesn't have any weapons, so I figured I'd just run him over. I managed to get just enough air off of the end of the ramp to Pancake him.

I was playing in a game versus a guy named Rincewind. At one point I had him in my sniper sites so right before I took my shot I messaged him saying "Rincewind? Death gave me a message for you. YOUR LATE"

I'm driving the jeep (Raptor?) with a gunner on this one stage (again, forget the name, it was a stage with a sky bridge) and we're trying to clear the sky bridge but I lagged at the wrong moment and we barely didn't make it. The vehicle is half off and half on the bridge, so as long as I'm gunning the gas, it won't fall but it won't get up either. The guy managed to hop out and land on the ground, but then I lose grip and fall. At the very last minute, before the jeep hit's the ground, I hop out, I take massive damage from falling but I lived. Well, I lived long enough to get gunned down by an engineer as he left his base anyway.

Grand Theft Auto 3. (I won't be surprised if a lot of people did this) Kill Refried Noodle. I try to kill him but he escapes during the gun fight. SO I scout around and find that he has three getaway cars depedning on which way you chase him. So my brother suggests I destroy his car, but I have one idea better. I take the one car on the west and take it to 8 ball's and then drop the car off exactly where it was. I then went around to the East entrance and attacked again. He ran and I took my time in the gun fight until I heard a boom and mission accomplished. The funny part is that the Yakuza stopped fighting me then and walked away.

Another Grand Theft Auto 3. Killing the Pidgeon. I have to kill a guy who's gonna rat on the corrupt officer. So I chuck some grenades in his window and then he bolts by car. I chase him, attacking him with my uzi when possible. I end up ramming him and we both go off the peer. So we're both sinking their and I'm praying he dies before I do. As my hp passes 5 I get the mission complete screen right before the death screen, so I woke up at the hospital with my mission cleared.

In the Dark Messiah BETA I had my Necromantic backside handed to me repeatedly...by Spongebob Squarepants...he even had the image on his shield...oh the shame.

Back in the BF 1942 days. I was playing Desert Combat. I get my self an A10. One day I'm screwing around on one of the pacific maps and start tossing bombs. Going high diving pulling up and when I'm at about a 45 above the normal (The ground) I let go of the bomb and it gets lobbed half way across the island.

About 15 second later i suddenly realize I got 5 kills.

Best death was Tribes 2 Meltdown2 mod. Had a weapon called the Mitzi blast cannon. 6 Firing modes. One was called the Super Mitzi blast. The firing mode had a caption "here comes the sun!". This mode fired a ball bigger than most of the bases in the game. Can't remember the map, Tennyson poem light brigade had something to do with the name.

I'm running the flag, and I'm out of jet pack juice. So I'm running/hopping/getting the hell outta there. Suddenly I'm intercepted by 5 heavy who jumped off one of the big transports. I get diverted and start taking another route, but alas. The 5 heavies fire, the 3 guys chasing me fire.
8 huge balls come flying at me.

I disappear. The flag is sitting there all alone in the middle of the map. My body gibed(Really primitive server side gibing). The server holds my camera on the flag. 3 mediums run for the flag. Right as they get to it my Chars foot lands right back on top of it. Laughter all around.
