Of course, the media is eating this up and linking this with the other recent shootings. I say this is more due to a lack of Gattling God than anything else.

Of course, the world is in chaos because the mystical image has been lost. I say we make a council that will decide to ask the representative for the god of the mole people to ask the original author to make another one.

I wonder what will be blamed for this, though...
Sadly, all we hear about in Quebec right now is the overpass that collapsed in Laval this weekend, so we won't get much more details around here.

Maybe for once in the media's life there won't be a scapegoat, maybe they'll just look at the event as a tragedy and respect the wishes of those who died by not simplifying it into a rallying cry.
And maybe hell will freeze over.

We're still waiting to hear what happened to him 20 years ago. Articles are saying it was a 20 year old grudge, putting him around 11 or 12 at the time back then, that all of a sudden set him off.
A lot of the recent stories are reporting using the "recent shootings" angles. Even today's Las Vegas case, though no shooting but a kid seen with a gun near a school, has mentions of the other shootings.
My worry was that this Amish school case was a copycat of the Colorado one where someone who decided they had "nothing to loose" decided to run in, molest a bunch of kids, then off himself. That's what the Colorado case seemed like anyway. But so far, it appears to be a different motive in the Amish school case. I'm still worried that others with a "nothing to loose" attitude are going to copycat the Colorado case.

A fourth girl just died, 7 are left in critical condition. Worst part is? I go to school near there.
Honestly, dying to bullets is not what this guy deserved.

No matter what the press coverage it won't affect the famalies, but this incident surely will not cast us English in a better light.

As a parent, it concerns me that whack jobs are going to schools and killing people for no apparent reason. I personally think these were all elaborately planned terrorist attacks and that accounts for the timing.

Rest assured, George Bush's upcoming conference/committee or whatever will spend lots of money looking at the issue, with either a single thing to blame (which won't solve the problem) or discover, after all the money is spent, that there isn't a simple answer.

Is there really a good reason?

Or just say that there is no problem and that the Geneva convention is sorta vague. Amirite?

This recent rise in school shootings has me a little worried to be honest. I mean why so many in such a short period of time. Well I think its tragic that children died during this shooting, and my heart goes out to the familes.

I was poking around one of the newer CNN articles on this subject, and they were discussing school safety upgrades. I can see a few problems with this. For one, there are a metric ****-ton of security measures in already in place at most schools. For example, when my brother was younger, I had to have a written letter from my mom to be able to pick him up (we lived in a rural area and most children rode the bus).
The second issue, in the case of the Amish, is that most of the security measures would go highly against their beliefs. It's not like they can install security cameras or anything around their schoolhouses.

I think we need to have those brotherhood of steel guys at public schools. going to school at a microcausim of a dystopian police state will help prepare kids for when they live in the dystopian police state Jeb Bush has created.
that is so messed up. Amish! they don't DO anything cept make cool quilts! and they were kids.... ;_;

Seriously why in the hell would you do anything to them. They are like the one place in humanity that doesn't piss me off. You know people can make fun of the Amish all they want but damn these people are some of the nicest people you can talk to. If they didn't have that non-violent thing to them the insults would stop flying, I mean seriously who in their right mind would **** with someone who is busting their ass 24/7 in Manual Labor. You have to know these guys could probably punch through your body.
To want to go in, rape and then kill children is just sick, the Amish might not hold a grudge against this guy but I am not Amish so I hope this **** burns in hell.
we need Harison Ford to get back in his Amish getup and start busting heads.
Ford: *decks guy*
bystander: I thought you guys were all non-violent!
Amish: ...he's from Ohio
bystander: ... ;_;

One of my suitemates works for the school radio station. While the radio in our room was playing, I heard him and some other guys on a radio show making jokes about this shooting. I turned off the radio and I'm making a complaint to the school radio station as soon as I get the time.
I never liked the boy to begin with, but this just pushes it too far. One of these ****in' days, I'm gonna flip on that fat piece of ****. How do people like that live with themselves?
