It's not on the web yet as it just broke on CNN, Bush is currently announcing Donald Rumsfeld has resigned as Defense Secretary.

Does he do call-ins? I would pay money to laugh in the guy's face live on air.
Or say "desu desu desu desu desu desu desu" untill he hangs up.

XD That reminds me of this one part of Dethklok[I don't know how to spell the actual name of the show] this cult style group wanted to stop their lead singer from giving a speech as it would should the masses that they were as good an anyone, and it would threaten the rich people's seat of power.

It's a freakin plausible deniability stunt. As he's no longer SoD, he can't be hauled in front of a Congressional committee to be asked what he knew when, and the new guy can just shrug and go, "dur, I dunno, he didn't leave me a memo".
Same crap Rice pulled when they grilled her on 9/11. "Gee, I don't remember that memo..."
They're burning all the bridges and shredding all the files before a Dem committee in the House hauls them in front of the cameras in a show trial to make themselves look good before the next set of elections.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Sweet revenge! I'm so glad the american people decided to stop fking around. At this rate, Bush will be hounded by the democrat majority now. Then, after we pull out of Iraq, he'll be a lame duck preisident.

While I like that rummy is going, as change was needed, Pulling out of iraq isn't gonna do any good save for leaving the country open for a terrorist takeover. If that happens, then the Reps just have to point the finger at the dems and BOOM, 2008, they are back in charge, so till then, the dems won't pull out. Might change some stuff though, and might give the troops better gear which is good. We'll see. but I doubt it.
Either way, rummy leaving was probably a smart move overall, but till 2008, this election has only set the stage. Now come 2008, that will be a blood bath of an election.
Personally, I don't like it etiher way, cause it doesn't change the fact that the Dems try to stiffle the free speech of anyone who doesn't agree with them. Don't belive me, look up something called the "fairness docture", the democrat method of silencing talk radio, since liberal talk radio failed miserably. And dont' forget, alot of dems are anti games, and they are backed by the ACLU.
I doubt things are gonna get better till the American people stop voting party lines and start voting for people with some brains, and that goes both ways, REP and DEM.
I will say this, Nanci polasi has a chance to prove Sean Hannity wrong, if she does the exact opposite of what he says she'll do. But if she proves him right, he'll use her in 2008 to show that Dems are Liars and decivers, so she'd better be careful, cause both Sean and Rush hate her guts, and between them they have nearly 40 million listeners.
Should be an interesting 2 year no?

We can fix Iraq but it will require more troops and planing and I don't think the USA can put up with the mess much longer, but then we have yet to "fix" afganastain.......uhg..its a mess we stay while losing life while trying to do something we should just stop trying and start doing... and doing it hard.....

You're right. We can fix Iraq AND Iran at the same time. Without sacrificing anymore troops, either. All we need is a few of those succulent nuclear weapons stored deep within the desert.

Perhaps I should replace fix with simi modernize, then they can go and scuttle the whole thing into the ground by fighting each other I mean really we are either there untill they can act like non homicidal adults or we give up and stop draging us down with them.
It seems like in Iraq we are the problem because we are there nothing can be done on a large scale 0_o

Happy trails, mother****er.
I think it's only starting to sink in that the democrats now have their finger on the button. The button that teleports Bush into space.

The only problem with this is, that I don't think the Dems are going to make a farce investigation like the Republican Controlled Congress did. Even though Rummy is out of office, he can still be subpoenaed before a House Committee.
I don't think this is going to get Rumsfeld completely out of Hot Water, but it will put Bush into Luke Warm water, as he has now "shown" that he is willing to change his cabinet in response to election results. I think this is what is called flip-flopping as before the elections Bush and Rumsfeld both stated that Rumsfeld had no intention of leaving his post.
Gonna do this in sections.
While I like that rummy is going, as change was needed, Pulling out of iraq isn't gonna do any good save for leaving the country open for a terrorist takeover. You're correct a complete withdrawal is impossible as the only way to force that through Congress would be to stop spending money on it. This of course would be Political Suicide as the Reps would just turn that into the Dems don't support the troops.
I think things are going to change significantly as Bush won't be able to ram his agenda through congress like he was previously. Which means he has to compromise, also the fact that he was hurting Republicans getting re-elected when he campaigned for him hit home. Bush has become more than a lame duck, he's become a black eye on the GOP. If they want any chance at keeping the Presidency, Bush has to get his approval ratings up, and his only chance at that is through bi-partisanship with Congress.
Either way, rummy leaving was probably a smart move overall, but till 2008, this election has only set the stage. Now come 2008, that will be a blood bath of an election.
Yeah 2008 is going to be one Nasty election. I think the sleeves are rolled up and the guns are drawn already. I kinda feel sorry for any Incumbent running in '08 as any skeleton they have in the closet is going to be pulled out. Also I don't think the Democrats can count on Republican cover ups of scandal to help out, although they could start investigating some of the cover ups done under the Hassert/Frisk Congress.
Personally, I don't like it etiher way, cause it doesn't change the fact that the Dems try to stiffle the free speech of anyone who doesn't agree with them. I'm not too worried about the Free speech thing from Dems, as much as I am about the Republicans sweeping the Bill of Rights under the rug with their removal of Habeus Corpus. That is much scarier, when you can't go to a court and fight back.
The video game thing is a non-issue to me really as it'll pass, and courts will eventually rule it as they have done movies and music.
Now I would rather have the ACLU backed Dems right now than the Christian Coalition & PTC backed Republicans, which do you think would stiffle speech more?
I doubt things are gonna get better till the American people stop voting party lines and start voting for people with some brains, and that goes both ways, REP and DEM.
I think things will get better just because there will be Governmental lock up due to the legislative and executive not being able to get along. Also the Senate is now 1 seat in favor of the Democrats, but Liberman an Independently elected Dem is in favor of the Iraq War. So on that issue it's a 50/50 split. Which means Cheny gets the final vote.
Also the only way we're gonna get rid of the 2 party system is to have a revolution but the sheeple in this country don't have the spine.
I will say this, Nanci polasi has a chance to prove Sean Hannity wrong, if she does the exact opposite of what he says she'll do. Nancy Pelosi is probably going to surprise a lot of people I believe. The woman has balls, (not literally) to just be able to become the first Woman Speaker of the House. Reading up on her she is very deft at keeping her party in line and negotiating the political landscape. Even though her and Bush hate each other I think they will work together to get some things through, although I believe trivial legislation will be dropped for 2 years due to the negotiations on higher profile bills.
Remember Pelosi and Bush have similar views on Immigration reform. I see this as one of the first things to get through. Bush was unable to get his Immigration ideas through the House due to the stranglehold ultra conservative Republicans had on the leadership of the House.
I say give the Dems a chance, and in '08 vote out the extreme fringes of both parties in favor of moderates, things are more likely to get done right then.

In before fresh prince.
Good calls Toll, I think the Democratic party will suprise the hell out of a lot of people who percieve it as weak-wristed (Rush Limbaugh, who has predicted that they'll lead the country into ruin, I'm looking at you). This is their first chance in 12 years, and I think with Nancy P the party is going to take the form of a bare-knuckled boxer, beating the **** out of the republicans.
