Yeah I heard about this one, I guess we didn't think Iran was advancing fast enough for Bush to attack during his Presidency.
I like these comments
A partial list of WH generosity toward Bad Guys:
--Ignoring Al Qaeda's pre-9/11 threats to attack within the US, possibly in NYC, possibly by flying a plane into a building.
--Hustling all members of the Bin Laden family out of the US on a day when no one else could fly. They were never questioned, according to Richard Clarke.
--Failing to go after Bin Laden and pulling Special Forces out of Afghanistan to go to Iraq. (Osama to Bush: "Thanks, pal!")
--Helping to turn Iraq from a secular country to an Islamic, anti-American republic and in the process alienating moderate Muslims everywhere.
--When no WMD were found, opening up Iraq's largest nuclear facility to looters, who stole IAEA-sealed containers with highly-radioactive materials suitable for use in in dirty bombs.
--In case Bad Guys could not get the secret of the nuclear bomb from Pakistan or N. Korea, publishing it on the internets.
--Firing the Iraq army and sending it home with its weapons.
--Torturing prisoners in the prison Saddam had made notorious for torture as a way of letting the enemy know how we would like American prisoners of war to be treated.
--Helping destroy Lebanon, the only other secular country in the Middle East, and encouraging the population's allegiance to Hezbollah. (Hezbollah to Bush: "Thanks, Pal!"
--In the grand tradition of dictatorships like the ones in Chile and Argentina, disappearing suspects and torturing them, guilty or innocent or just cuz.
--Suspending the writ of habeus corpus and thus abrogating our civil liberties. Oh,wait--that helps the Bad Guys in charge here the most.
--Appointing a known sexual predator to be in charge of looking into the activities of sexual predators of children and covering for him.
--Encouraging the fossil fuel industries in every possible way to continue heating up the planet, causing thousands of deaths annually and getting us into wars in oil-rich countries who use our gasoline-dollars to support terrorism and oppress their citizens.
The sad thing is none of that is pre-election propaganda. It's all true T_T
Ok, except the habeus corpus thing. We all still have it, unless you are labeled an enemy combatant. Sadly, the prerequisite for being one is that the president doesn't like you.

The one that sticks out to me is this one:

Iraq a secular country? No, wait, a Middle Eastern country a secular country? Sans Israel maybe?

You know, I don't have children, nor do I want any, but that's kinda crossing the line, even if jokingly.
TECHNICALLY Iraq was a secular dictatorship. Saddam used his religion in about the same way American politicians do; to gather votes (although in this case, it's more gathering support. Everyone 'voted' for the guy). Iraq's laws were more based on the whims of Saddamy then on dusty holy scriptures. Calling Iraq a secular country is factual, despite the fact that the large majority is islamic.
NOW it's overall chaos, and said muslim majority is now running left and right from this fundie preacher to that one.

But it was still poor sentence structure..
And Iraq under Saddam was a secular country... The Jihadists mainly Osama did not like Saddam.

Yeah and Zippy did cross a line although I wasn't offended because I understand the spirit in which the comment was made.
Toll already clarified for me, basically you were technically correct (the best kind of correct) but your structure made it uncomfortable and weird to read your statements. Like dinner at KN's house when his odd uncle comes over.

Nicely said, but I'd more likely say its from one Homicidal Power Hungry Cleric to the another.
