View Full Version : Where did all these mods come from?

Since when were there 739013190 mods?
OT is Tollwutig and I vying for power and nothing else.
I feel betrayed.

Hey mang, it's just one more. I swear. I'll keep the collective Anjin-San hive-mind locked away

The rest were the correspondants who now have moderator powers, there were three, there were three mods before (you, Toll, and Garret) and now there's one more with Anjin-San added.

Theory?, beemoh, BeardedFerret, Jabrwock, Anjin-San <---MODS
It's missing Garret and Toll...which brings the total to 7 mods.
Dennis made everyone a mod everywhere, so anyone who was a mod in only one forum last time is now a mod everywhere.
So I'm guessing that's what happened.
BUT WHERE IS MY LOVER TOLLWUTIG!?!

I nominate Silver as a mod...he could enforce the useage of the grammar nazi.

Sorry to say this, but Garrett is the only mod I trust. He is a real man :P

Dunno. Perhaps one is Beemoh(?)

I think Toll and Garrett were the only mods who actually... y'know... modded. Or at least the only ones I saw doing it.

Way back a ways there was a discussion about a new mod and you were mentioned, but shot down because we kept getting complaints from Bayushisan about you.

Well the conflict between Silver and Bayu wasn't exactly private. It pretty much spanned the Off-Topic forum, if Theory said we kept on getting comments about you, it would've been pretty easy to figure out who they were from. Thus he might as well say who.

Perfectly understandable. I just wonder how come he complained so much while I pretty much only dealt with him in the open grounds. I guess different people have different approaches to challenges. Some try to get you banned, other actually try to help you solve your problems and other just point out why you're acting like an idiot.
To know that he actually complained enough to have me lose a chance at being a mod makes me lose some of the respect I had for him as a rival and a debater.

Eh, Bayu was wierd, he seemed to be constantly butting heads with one person or another and his argumetns tended to get heated pretty quickly, IIRC after one of many fights he didn't really post in OT anymore.

I, personally could have cared less. I never saw anyone, except KN, really say things that were off the wall. It's just a manner of taxonomy. We can nominate mods til the cows come home, but in the end the deciding factor is results and you can't risk making a mod out of someone who has pissed at least one person off to the point of complaining.

Usually he would complain about being hated and stuff when he didn't have anything to actually back up his arguements. Typical scenario in debating.

That did annoy me. He would send me PM's complaining and I would ask him to send me links but no links ever came to me.

But what constitute complaining and what constitute attacks because you actually make sense in your arguments? This is the drawing line, I believe.

Going off-topic in this topic, but I think we could use a debate thread. It would do the forum good to have a place to butt heads in a civil manner.

By the way, I was joking about nominating Silver, due to the fact there was the comment about there being a ton of mods. It would be horribly horribly biased of me to nominate him, anyways.

See the thing about that is it's too vague.
If you would like, we could have a weekly debate thread. Here's my plan:
First we make a thread to decide who takes on what side. It will be labeled side 1 and side 2. People can sign up to be on whichever side.
Once we have enough people, we make a thread every Sunday that starts the debate on a new topic. In the thread we will denote which side takes on which point of view and then everyone will debate. Come sunday, the thread will be closed and the next one will begin.
I have no objections to doing this. I think it would be a good excercise, especially people who have to debate a point of view they may not agree with.
EDIT: Just let me know if everyone is interested in this and I'll get the ball rolling.

The suggestion forum should be revived.
I'll forward the idea.
As for mentioning people by name, I see what you're saying by it being known and public...but I'd rather not have an interpersonal conflict be flaring with people looking on.
Edit: Disregard that one that debate thing. I read something else.

Yah, a debate thread system would be pretty cool, but the people should not choose their side to the debate, nor should the teams be fixed. Randomly generating groups every week would be a bit more fair to everyone (so someone doesn't get stuck defending Creationism, Muffins in the Cake VS Muffin thread or silly hats in the Clown debate).

Why don't we just use a sticky throughout all the debates, you could have the title change but have debate: in front of it at all times, and whoever started the thread could update the first post with links to the page that every weekly debate starts. It would be better for archiving and it would keep it all organized. It would also help to point out what can't be debated so it doesn't become a rehash of the gun rights thread.

My problem with keeping it as one thread is what happened with my philosophy thread. It's hard to mainatin the end points. In a debate everyone wants the last word. So in order to regulate the last word, we lock the thread.
As for picking sides, I guess the solution would be to have people sign up in general, and with each thread, I'll list who is on what side for that week. Sound good?

Sounds pretty good as long as there is no favouritism. I want to debate on the Muffin side sometimes :P

Sorry, but to call me merely "human" is almost insulting. Being human means there is a chance for error.
