I might sign up, but how exactly does singing up work?

First, you'll need to have an existing WoW account. I got mine while scanning my account management page - I'm finally getting back in the game :D - and noticed the WotLK tab somewhere on the bottom of my screen.

Ah, interesting... For some reason I wasn't expecting that they would start sending Beta invitations so early.
My account is currently frozen as I had grown tired of the PvE grind and arenas weren't to my taste, but I've signed up for this. Not that I expect them to choose my frozen account over an active one, but it doesn't hurt to try. :P

Actually, it's more a signup pool so that they'll have a selection of names to randomly pick when beta does roll in. We're technically not getting invited yet. That happens if we're lucky.

Negative points to the guy who completely missed me making fun of his misspelling.

Yes, I figured as much. :)
I just wasn't expecting the whole procedure to start so early, my wording was a bit clumsy in my previous post.

After playing AoC for a while I don't know if I can go back to WoW. I mainly left due to the game becoming more Arena focused than anything else, most of the class changes were solely based on balancing classes for Arena content. While they have promised changes with the expansion I remain wary on if I should come back or not.

AVOID, AVOID! Stick with a real MMO.

Wary. I swear this place has gone downhill since Theory became a not-mod.

*ignores the other comment* DO as ya will. I'd say being able to check out Northrend in the aftermath of the third war would be worth it, but that's me.

Blizzard is going to have a panel at Comic Con. They will be discussing many things about WoW, the TCG, the up coming moive and the WotLK Expansion. I am curious what they have to say about the game and what direction they are hoping to take it in terms of class balance and by that I mean if they are going to fix the horrendous problems they have caused for most players just so they can balance Arena. As well as instance and raid content for those who do not wish to live in the Arena 24/7, though I have a sinking feeling all that will be announced is season 5 Arena PVP gear and "changes" being made to make Arena even more balanced. If you can't tell I hated Arena.

The arena doesn't bother me so much as those who declare you a n00b for not taking part in it
I'm also curious about what's coming after this since it is kinda of tying up loose ends from the RTS games.

Well, at this point since the story is wrecked beyond all human means of repair, I'd say no more RTS from the Warcraft series, just MMO expansions on a yearly/bi-yearly basis. I'm holding out for Warhammer now... now that I got in the beta... man... so... sexy...
I <3 Mythic.

Lol that wasn't a joke?
Seriously I saw it and there was an achievement for leveling a guy to 40 or something without dying

Agreed since it is open.
And the game hasn't degenerated at all since the release, it's the same as ever for me, except all the fun new content ^^
And after this it seems Blizzard has declared the Emerald Dream as the next expansion.

Declared? Well if they "declared" the Dream in the next expansion, there'd be something on their website.
Then again I remember seeing some data of Howling Fjord plantlife in the MPQ files during the patch 2.2 public test patch. It was in a folder titled EXPANSION02. However, before the patch went live it was removed apparently until the actual expansion. But at least I knew Northrend would be next months before the expansion announcement.

It was announced at Blizzcon apparently. I haven o idea why no updates to the site have been done.
I know Emerald Dream content is or was in the game.
