dduuurrrrr(duurrr as in zippy is drooling/thinking) shouldn't this be in games and media forum or in one of the ECA forums?

the ECA info/stuff thread might be best, theres not really a forum for information posts like this, perhaps a Info,rights,protection forum in games to cover information regarding CP/IP,rights and the protections on games would be in order, would fit into the ECA or everything else thread as well.

I would say Off topic would be the best for it but the OT is flooded with chatter and it would get lost to quickly.

Anyway if tis not avalbile from retail stores its not fully protected IMO least not until the DMCA removes that bit of wiggle room,and I strongly believe in personal archiving as well, I am a hunter of data on the net,I mount the data I find and display it for myself, much like thos that hunt on the kings fields, if the media industry wants me to rebuy poorly repacked crap they'll have to put work into it until then the money I spend for board band trickles up to the media conglomerates one way or another.

The media industry runs off new publications outside of 5 years they forget WTF they made more often than not, I chose not to go to the store to buy my meat when it can I prefer it fresh off the net, not many know or care or want to do this the media industry will always have the brunt of the sheeple of the world to sale crap too, either way I refuse to spend money on over priced sub par crap looking at the mentalities of the industry to them buying used is the same pirating, I prefer to buy used since I have a box art fetish but if tis old and not easy to get I will find it one way or another.

You can't see to thos who wont buy and you can't blame them for everything, a better balance needs to be put in place to leave the hunters alone and to ensure the media mafia has full power to go after thos who profit from their media without the right contracts.

But my points stand, about 30% of the whole world wide consumer base will never buy new its either used or free, the media industry needs to change to suit the consumers needs not not break the knees of the consumer because they can not change to meet the times.
