Are there any games that you would like to see be remade. Heres one I'd like to see be remade.
Resident Evil 2: Imagine playing RE2 with the new features introduced in RE4 and with next-gen graphics.

Some will disagree, but, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Power Stone, Dynamite Cop, and some others which escape me right now.

The Marathon trilogy. It's Bungie's DUTY to give us either a tie-in in Halo 3 or to remake those games.

Oh, and Deus Ex Invisible Wars. Not because I liked that game, but because the original version of it must be erased from history. It is so incredibly unlike Deus Ex it makes me want to cry.

A Deus Ex remake would be awesome as hell too though.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III (as an 8 or 16 bit game.), Final Fantasy VII. I think They are remaking Final Fantasys V and VI for the GBA.

I'll add more as I think of them.

Remakes?

I think Darklands needs to return. For those not familer with it, Darklands was an open-ended RPG for DOS, set in medieval Germany, where you controlled a group of 4 adventurers on one simple quest: become famous. I know there's the Elder Scrolls series, but something that plays closer to a normal RPG rather than ES's more action-oriented approach would be nice.

Also, Die by the Sword needs a remake as it'd just be perfect for the Wii. Die by the Sword was a hack 'n slash where instaid of using standard pre-programmed moves and combos, you had total control over how you're sword moved. The controlls didn't reall work well on a PC keyboard, but on a Wii-mote? The game's almost built for it. Though I guess dragon quest swords sort of does that.

Yeah. But it's in 3D. I have mixed feelings about that one.

Graphics schmaphics, so long as the game plays well and is fun, and has a good story.

I'd rather play the orginal 8-bit version first. even if it's a rom.
Yeah, I'm a littlp picky with this one. But it doesn't matter either way. The next handheld I plan to get is a PSP.

Invisible War wasnt that bad compared to other games, though the original Deus Ex still takes a giant stick and consistently beats the **** out of Invisible war in every aspect except graphics. A remake of Deus Ex 1 would be great though, just update the graphics THAT IS IT. Do nothing else with the gameplay or story or areas.

Chrono Trigger is a good candidate for a remake or at least a port to GBA or DS.

I am personnaly sick of the Final Fantasy remakes... All they're doing is milk the cashcow. The Romancing Saga remake was stupendous (I loved everything about it), but that's because they actually had to THINK to make the game look better.

Too bad Darklands suffered from too many bugs. I played it for a while, only to come to a few too many bugs that stopped the game. If it were remade, an open ended series like Darklands, with enough thought, can pull a few gamers.

But ya know what RPG really needs to be remade? Planescape Torment. There is simply no other game with a better storyline. Anyone know any other game where the point is to die, over and over again, just so that you can finally die in peace? (or kill in peace...)

I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version of Grim Fandango -- it's an excellent game, but it's really bogged down by awkward controls. Even if all they did was tweak the pathfinding algorithm, that would be a huge improvement.

Devil May Cry 2 needs to be erased from history, and replaced with Devil May Cry 3. But, if they remade DMC2 so that it was actually... oh, I dunno, what's the word I'm looking for, oh yeah, GOOD, that would be ok too.

Also, I'm thinking they need to remake Gyakuten Saiban 3, because it doesn't look like it'll be getting released on the DS any time soon. Let's see... the entire Quest for Glory series in 3D, or at least compatible with Windows XP, all of the Dragon Quest games on the PSP and while they're at it, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma, as well as Zelda 2, even if they just ditch the side scrolling portions and make it a straight isometric RPG.

The first Resident Evil needs to be remade. That game was scary enough when it was pixelated. With modern graphics, it would be terrifying. Some others I'd like to see are Double Dragon, Battletoads (the arcade version), Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, and Splatterhouse. Also, A Link to the Past with Twilight Princess' graphics and engine = Awesome.

Question: Is Ninja Gaiden for X-Box considered a remake? If it is, its probably the best remake so far.

I would love to see a remake of Legend of Dragoon. Or a sequel.

Both would make me wet myself.

Personally I'd like to see the old Atari game Haunted House remade as a parody of Doom and the many clones it spawned. With the right team behind it (like say the Destroy All Humans crew) it could be stellar.

The other game I'd love to see remade is Yars Revenge, also from the 2600 days. An epic sci-fi shooter/3rd person perspective (for invading enemy bases and what not) would be truly awesome. Especially with everything that we can do graphic wise today

The first Resident Evil needs to be remade.

They did remake it, on the Gamecube, and failed at it. Yeah graphics were good but the storyline died the moment they made it serious. The original game was supposed to be a spoof off those old 50s horror movies, hence the cheesy one liners and plot devices. Once it became popular then it became serious.

Meh I'd rather see them actuality do something "GOOD" with mega man than rehash RE anymore.....

A remake of CT would rule and no crappy card game screw up over like in CC >>
hell remake both with good CT style gameplay!

King Nintendoid
yes,I wish I hope they add a secret counter,that annoyed me...I cant finish a level without...finishing it :P

DX2 was bad a correct remake with the DX1 style layout and controls would be great not to mention expanding story characters, levels, weapon balance, weapon upgrades it would be a winner if the game was "complete"..

*titls head*
Gameplay trumps all, however I cant stand to play 8bit games for long anymore, stupid low attention span >>
altho sqaure loves screwing over gameplay I wonder what quirks FF3 DS has >>

MaskedPixelante
again if Capcom is going to remake ANYTHING make it Mega man a good remake at that,DMC 2 would be bearable if they rebalanced it but frankly..let it die.
--------------
Michael James Nock
meh on GTA but OMG it would be great if DK was remade but sadly I think EA or some ball less brainless company owns it now.

Garbage Pail Kid
the frist RE was a spoof off old horror movies, now adays its a spoof of dumb over the top horror movies blah.

To me no to most yes,NG is not a remake ,Mario 64 is barely a remake of SMB,NG is a recreation from a on site power up action platformer to a action adventure game with no "power ups",not saying tis bad or wrong just a "remake".

-----------
John
Dragoon is good,a remake to fix some of its issues would be great...perhaps with new non "anorexic" dragons..

Oh yeah Darklands.

There was soo much more in Darklands then the Elderscrolls, and it has become the bases for one of the games i want to make.

You could make your character fresh out of the nest, or season him up a bit before adventuring. Having a horse made things easy, as did putting points many of the skills.

I would sneak into evil warlords towers and slay them with my party, then the town would take me in. Or sometimes the town would be full of devil worshipers and try to sacrifice me to thier god. You could find out what is going on based upon interactions you did.

If that's not enough to end the thread...

No, no... I'm taking this one to Nintendo directly. New game idea!

Actually, and I'm sure people will critique me on this:

The original X-Wing & the original TIE Fighter. I'm not talking about the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, or other derivatives of the same. I'd love to see a remake of the original games... because they just rocked. Especially how TIE Fighter plays off of the whole Imperial propaganda lines.

if I recall it had a more sim style to it than X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter,it would be a great game if update gently even a functional port would rule.

Not going to critique you, going to PRAISE you. Too bad Lucas probably don't want to see that happening, since the old trilogy doesn't seem to fit his new "idea" of Star Wars or something.
