I really hate copyright law. It's the most absurd policy ever drafted. I'm not saying copyright isn't important, but I am saying that modern policy is obsolete and ineffective and serves only one group of people and it's those who seek to profit from OTHER's works and no one else.
This is just another ass-raping from the government and big business to exclude private artists from getting what's deserved.
Ugh I could go on a LONG rant about this, but I just woke up.

I'm inclined to agree.
I can understand why supporters want it, though-- so that they don't create something only to find out that some dude from 1970 already made it and has it locked away in his basement. That --you have to admit-- is a retarded copyright suit you'd have to defend yourself against.
Of course, no one wants to admit that a more fair plan is to shorten the protection period. Then there is a whole lot less possible claims that can be made.

Here's how it is in a nuthshell. It's just like the FCC. There is a VERY good reason to have an FCC, but our FCC is a bunch of bastards.
Same with copyright law. Its important to have, but the execution is crap. Utter crap.

Yeah I think the copyright laws are pretty bogus too. But if this goes through its open season on any of the private parties. Only big corporations are the only ones that will benefit from this piece of crap.
