Hello! I am currently going to school and graduating w/an A.S. degree in Computer Electronic Engineer Technology.. and i wantd to ask:
Should i continue to B.S in the same field (Electronic degree) or do i need to shift this to do something with the building of gaming hardware? I don't even know what the title I need to look for. I did some resource, but still have come up empty handed. Is there no such field/title?
I want to build the stuff/troubleshoot/repair/create hardware..i got some crazy ideas. >.<
thanks for your time.

So you want to work on computer/console hardware?
Well, you would have to look directly at Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo for career options.
I would say, that unless you want to be in research and development, then there are probably not many options for you directly in the game industry. Of course I don't know a lot about hardware.
You could also look into careers with the many 3rd party accesory companies: MadKatz/Pelican/Intec etc. They do a lot of research and development in new technology.
I would also take a stroll around your neighborhood arcade and try to find out the cabinet makers and look there.
There are quite a few options if you are willing to be flexible in where you work and what sort of work you do.
As you get later in your BS, I would definately look into internships with any kind of chip maker or hardware company. But definately go on to get your BA and possibly a masters. Such a career is very competitive and a good education is a big help.

If you want to make the internals of controllers/consoles, then stick with electronics. If you want to make the next WiiMote, I'd move to human interfaces.
