Here is a comment that I recently posted on game politics based on the up coming Byron Report, I just wanted some feedback from it...

No matter what happens or what anyone says about Videogames,

it is important that we (as gamers) understand that no matter WHO says WHAT about Videogames, we still enjoy our videogames regardless of what other people think.

Also to understand that the older generation (a large group where a few of the minority are anti-gamers belong to but most of the anti-gamers are within that large group) had never really grew up with videogames so they can't understand videogames on the same level as we do.

That is my view, and with that in my mind I know that I will enjoy reading her report no matter what she says.

I think it is important to note thate the older generation DID play games, and were actually the first gamers. However, the games they played were created, in large, to be novelties and toys. That and the birth of Nintendo and the NES(marketed as a toy) has led to a mis-colored view to people who have outgrown "toys" and moved on to things they find more adult and sophisticated. That is why I am one to push the issue of games as art. For every Roger Ebert out there, there is someone who has a light turned on and gets it. At least in my world (art student).

The Byron Report seems tame, Suggesting a better rating system?

Isn't that what we gamers have been telling them all along?
