One can only wonder what new medium the censorcrats will go after next.

some nanotech enhanced entertainment that puts you in the middle of a movie, or some new age fluid music or something like that

Forget all about nanotech, holodecks, or any gizmo-techs that will become the next popular invented medium. We need to invent something that will keep people from scapegoating new inventions, including that invention itself.

You know, when you grow up, you may well become one of those "censorcrats" (which is a rather silly word in any case). Many of the people who whine and complain about video games now were once in the exact same position that we now find ourselves in... only for them, the issue was rock music (or comic books, or D&D, etc.). We all like to think that we're too smart to ever freak out over the potential dangers of some new medium, but can we really be so sure?

Ehh, I don't wonder. It's pretty obvious that they are heading for the internet as a whole. Especially with all the net neutrality debate.

Could be, but I evidently ignored you :p

I have also expressed similar sentiments in the past.

what happened to the good old days when killing someone who hated on you made you a hero?

And @ hannah

No worries, just means we are on the same train of thought... you might want to jump off soon though, being anywhere near on the same wavelength of a psycopath like me could have its effect on you!

Well, the internet is a horrible horrible place.

Of course, I mean these "parents against [insert website or culture here]" groups should be commended! I mean once they get rid of maddox's site then everything will be just fine and dandy right?

of course no one need worry about any of those hardcore midget gang wierd stuff sites, they always need to tackle the much more serious issue of videogames!

Well, some of them try to target sex/violence as a whole... but even then, they miss many of the internet's horrors.

immorality is here, it will always be here and nothing will be able to change that, even in the middle ages we had brothels, in the victorian times we had penny dreadfuls and solicited sex workers, it is a constant cycle, the fact that anyone says that they can change it is either because they are completely insane and have no recollection of history (because it is condemned, learning things will teach you truth other than the truth they want to impose upon you!) or because they want to make themselves look good as a role model for that generation of parents.

This, my friends is why murder was invented

The most obvious answer to me is "virtual reality" once it'll be fully available.

However long that may be. I tried one of those machines at Cedar Point many a year ago. Awkward doesn't begin to describe it.

Doesn't even have to be new... could be something that's already old meme in more sane parts of the world (I'm thinking of weird **** like gabber) that just hasn't mentally molested America's youth yet.

The last thing this world needs is more dumb yankee children who shout and swear on halo 3 and CoD 4...
