Hello, I am not that content with the number of non-german visitors of my online game Ars Regendi (http://www.ars-regendi.com). Do you have any suggestions and hints, how and where one can promote a browser game the best way for english-speaking players?
I'd also be interested in a link exchange with relevant sites :)

Mmmh, as far as the 'relevent sites' thing, I don't know. I just wanted you to know that if I liked browser-based games, I might give yours a try. The political aspect is nice. As far as appealing to us dirty American pigs, you might try a localization effort. Not just for English, but other languages. The best way to reach native speaking people is to speak their native tongue.
From one aspiring gamedev to another, I still say, nice work!

Thank you very much :)
Well, translating in other languages is fu...ing expensive. It was quite hard to find nice people who were willing to translate into English for a few money. Next language should be Spanish, but at first we have to earn the money to pay a good translator

Yeah, I understand the whole money issue. Somebody stole my dev laptop so I'm stuck writing a C++/DX9 2D engine from scratch, something that will run 100+ FPS on my old desktop (aka fileserver) with integrated. Better times will await us both, of this I am sure.

Well we just started one week ago, and regarding this, we are already very successful :) My condolence for your laptop, that's really annoying :(

One way to make it more appealing to us poor anglophones would be to make the url point to a page where the language options are big and obvious. If I follow a link to a website that appears to be all in German, I don't always look to see if there's an English version.

Hu damn, I intended that the default language is English. Have to talk with the programmer

Hmm, it's possible that it just picked up on my location -- I'm currently on vacation in Germany :p
