Hi all,
Just a question if there was going to be any kind of news or announcement on what the ECA's plans or goals are for 2008? I was just curious to see the direction the ECA is planning on going and try and find a way to support those endeavours.
Thanks and have a great New Year!

Baron,
I saw your post about supporting us and I just wanted to let you know that a great way to get involved is to start an ECA Chapter; running an ECA Chapter not only lets you enter into all sorts of fun contests, but will let you network with other gamers on sites like linkedin.com and it gets you involved on a grassroots level, and we'll have all sorts of great advocacy stuff for you and your chapter members to do! If you'd like more information on how to start a chapter, just let me know.
Best regards,
Thomas

I am currently trying to find a way to start a chapter here. Unfortunately, living on a military installation overseas tends I am running into legal redtape with starting a chapter. Hopefully I can at least get one started before I my next assignment.
Still the other part of the question remains, what are the ECA's goals for 2008?

Baron,
We've received a lot of interest from folks in the military, which is one of the reasons that we introduced the .mil discount. Our PR firm is working with one of the editors from Stars & Stripes on a feature story about the ECA and an interview with Hal. Our hope is to formalize a relationship between each branch and our org, which may be the path of least resistance regarding chapter affiliation. As for your question about plans going forward, I'd refer you to the Members Only section of the GP Forums, where you can read Hal's 2007 Summary - which also describes some of our 2008 goals and challenges. But please let me know if you have any additional questions once you've read that.

Thanks for the info and I look forward to hopefully establishing a Chapter here in Germany in the future.
