Penny Arcade's gamer-driven toy drive has taken in almost as much in donations this year as the venerable Toys for Tots' online effort has.

Although the wildly popular webcomic's annual Child's Play toy drive is only in its fourth year, it has collected more than $850,000 in cash and donated goods this holiday season. By comparison, Toys for Tots just hit the $1 million mark for online donations this year.

seems like pretty amazing work to me.

I believe it, Toys for Tots is getting old, and at least in this region they've made it clear that some groups (bikers) are welcome and other groups (4-wheelers) are not.

Child's Play is a great charity and just gets better every year.

last i checked, we were near One Million Dollars in donations.
