Really now, I can understand asking $70 for the super special edition of X-Com that came with TFtD and Apoc. in 1999 and was produced in small numbers (nevermind that you could just as easily obtain those games for *ahem* shall we say...far less).

But $54.99 for a *USED* copy of Okami? (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000E991PC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_olp_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1197305500&sr=1-1)

$29.95 for a *USED* copy of Katamari Damacy? (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0002Y2XXQ/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1197305574&sr=1-1)

$89.99 (!!??) for a copy of Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters?! (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00006IJJC/ref=sr_1_olp_4?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1197305761&sr=1-4)

Thoughts? opinions? even more rediculous prices?

Personally I think all those sellers are braindead, but hey I'm not the one charging more for a used copy of a game that you can still find new in stores for like $20 less.

While Okami was a totally rockin' game, $54 is a little much for a used copy.

Maybe this is because Christmas is just around the corner and people think they can scam others and make a large profit??? (if so, way to go on that holiday spirit, guys)

I think I have you beat.

$9.59 slashed from $11.99 (http://www.amazon.com/Non-Sequitur-Day-Day-Calendar/dp/0740766732/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197774346&sr=8-1) for a brand new 2008 Non Sequitur Day to Day calendar from Amazon.

Check out the Used and New section (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0740766732/ref=dp_olp_1/103-2038100-6142253?ie=UTF8&qid=1197774346&sr=8-1).

$27.99
$32.85
$56.32

I think someone has some gold leaf calendars there.

You're in the Netherlands, correct? Good ol' Holland. When I was living in Germany, that's where I'd go to get 70 - 80% off on electronics, compared to the US. Just get a V.A.T. form, go up there, and spend money on seriously inexpensive electronics. When I was in Germany (mind you, this is before the Euro), the Dutch Guilder was about 2 fl. to $1 USD. The prices for the electronics were the exact same numeric amount, so typically, I saw things that cost $100 in the US, cost 100 fl. in Holland (or cost $50 USD). The VAT form removed the value added tax for things that had a value of $100 USD or more, which, I believe was 20% of the Dutch price. Remove that, and something that cost 200 fl., gets reduced to 160 fl., or about $80, while in the US I'd have to have paid $200 (or rather, $199.95 plus tax) for it.

Those were the good ol' days :)

Mind you, with the Euro being in place, that tends to change up the exchange rate something fierce, so it is not nearly as good as it used to be.

Gorram it's just like the action figure and comic markets, who are the idiots who support morons like the ones here who're trying to sell used copies of Silent Hill 1 for over $60 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00001XDUB/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1199895838&sr=8-3) (don't even get me started on the new copies) that's just frelling retarded since I got my (NEW!) copy less than a year ago for less than $10!!

EDIT: and that $10 was *expensive* compared to the price of used copies. I mean seroiusly the USD has fallen but not *that* much.

You do not seem to udnerstand how collectibles work, since video games are not not mainstream like DVD film you have a smaller amount of games produces then add rare titles or RPGs and the price sky rockets, look up guardian heroes or Shining force 3 or shinning the holy ark for the Saturn ts far worse than paying retail or alil more than retail for a used/new game :P

Amazon has some good deals you just have to find them

I remember when Disgaea was inflated in prices, before the second release of discs was made. Back then I bid on a copy for $55 on eBay (which was on the low side) and in my quest for bargain hunting I somehow forgot about it and paid $50 in an online store the next day.

Eventually I ended up getting TWO new copies of Disgaea in the mail, which is kind of like rounding up two people that are hardcore fans of the Tekken anime. I just put my extra copy at a buy it now price for $55 and only got a loss from the auction fees.

at what point is Amazon.com listed as a seller with those prices? because I don't see anything.

When it's a case where amazon is not directly selling, it works similar to ebay, so blaming amazon for the prices is a lack of attention.
