I dont really know who any of the organisations mentioned here are... but..

During a two-month undercover survey of more than 60 stores countywide, 46 percent sold video games rated M for “Mature” to teens younger than 18, said Shontey Hambrick, adult adviser to the East County Youth Coalition
The article is kinda light on specifics but no doubt this will be fuel to the fire.

There are a handful of media outlets attributing this to NIMF.
Also, a handful attributing the same study to stats that show games are still better at the carding thing than films are.

And one person with it in his head that this means the ESRB has failed x.x

Keep in mind:
a) the survey showed about the same "success" rate for being able to buy, that the FTC did in 2005
b) this was in San Diego County only

Yeah, I posted this in the NIMF thread. Both Next-Gen.biz and Gamasutra.com are attributing this to NIMF.
From the article, it says that it was a combo effort of East County Youth Coalition, NIMF and other unnamed organizations.
I would love to see the full report on this though. To say that the article is light on information is a severe understatement.

:( i was looking for the right place to post, i didn't notice that NIMF thread. i'm still finding my way around.
Aparently the full report will be published in 2weeks time.
There is a problem here.
Mature seems to be 17 and over.
"Underage" seems to be under 18.

That was the first thing I noticed. IF they used 17 year olds in their study of M (17 and up) games then their numbers are off. I really want to see the explanation here.
