I got my copy yesterday, and got about an hour in last night... and wow.

I hope the rest of the game keeps up this pace and balance.

Initial impressions are;
It looks great, they have done some good work again with the graphics. the Battle fields end up looking very chaotic with smoke trails from RPGs and fires from burning cars etc. The animations are very good as well.

The AI (particularly your squad) is very good, the audio cues you get from your squad are great (much as they were in COD2).

The maps I’m enjoying a lot. They are linier, but in a similar way to HL2, the maps sort of guide you in the right direction without forcing you down one singular path. So if you get pinned down, there is room in the level to flank the enemies, or get to a roof for better position, but as you move on you never find yourself on the wrong side of the level unsure where to go next. there is also a nice mix (so far) of locations. So far we have been on a boat, in a 'middle eastern city' and in the Russian county side.

Voice acting seems very good to.. its not to often that the English chars. sound like they are actually English, and not some horrible put on 'Jolly Ho Charlie lets get the blighters' accent.

anyway.. so far so good.

I concur on CoD4 rocking, though I only got my hands on the 360's multiplayer beta. The game's fast-paced enough that it focuses on the action, but it requires a lot thinking and guile for you to win.

I am extremely glad I shelled out the cash for this game. the Single player is great, some of the best writing in a shooter. And the mulitplayer is just addicting.

I haven't played Call of Duty 4, but I deny the mere possiblity that anyone in it is as manly as the soldier Jason Statham played in the first Call of Duty.

well due to the inexplicable death of my computer i wasn't able to play any more COD4 for a few days.

However all was better again last night and more CODing was enjoyed.

Last night i played though 'All Ghillied Up' which is without doubt one of the best levels of any game I've played in a long time.

It has everything, moments of genuine tension, great action, great pace, an amazing final shoot out. All set in against the backdrop of Prypiat - which between this and stalker i'm starting to think i know my way around pretty well.

The game is very good, but this level.. i'm sure there are level of the year awards.. so far this should win.

Ok, completed.

I loved this game. It is a little short, took me probably 10-11 hours to complete on hardened. Thats as long as a lot of games are these days but this one was so well done that i really wish there was more.

I loved almost every minute of the single player, and the multiplayer is addicting.

I didn't much like 'All Ghillied Up' But then again i'm not much of a fan of stealth or sniping :P.

Even though that mission actually gave me the greatest feeling of tension i've felt in a long time playing a game.

CoD4 is freakin' amazing...

Such a good story in single player. (I'm using PC version).

I finished the campaign last night. I feel so proud.
