These forums seem somewhat dead. You should make a link and push them a bit more on gamepolitics.com. People would know these forums exist and it would get more discussion and activity rolling.

I think he means something like the Psychotic post rates some boards get, where there are 20 responses before you finish typing yours.

Hannah, only a handful of those "Active posters" are actully active...
I think that the forums button should be far more visible..
Also, we need to investigate why all the "New members" just turn tail.

Forum looks fine to me. Cigawoot, don't think there's enough in here? Join the ECA and post more in ECA members only thread! Also, speak to Zippy and get some pointers on how to make a job out of it! :p

I am perfectly happy with the post rate, it means I can actually work at work instead of moderating all day long.
Although I do think it could be pushed a little bit more on the main site, most of the new users to my belief think that the forums are an activist site which it is not. While most members agree with the concept that video games shouldn't be regulated by government, we also realize that GP is a news site and most of the forums are not for Activism. This may change once the ECA gets up and running actively, but that sort of activity will remain in their sub-forum.

There is a text link on the sidebar, although I imagine it is a bit lost amidst the other links.
We are going to put a graphic banner over there, I just need someone to make it...
Any takers? :o

Can't help you with that, but... if you want to drive more traffic to the forum, why not mention it in a news article? Just a simple "Hey guys, don't forget about the forums!" (accompanied by a handy link) would do wonders.

The news story posted for the contest got kinda overshadowed when the Manhunt 2 controversy hit its peak (or at least I thought that it hit is peak, the hacking stuff is making it worse). Anyway, you might want to repost the contest again after the Manhunt 2 stuff dies down.

Ah-ah! I worked it out!
I had wondered how i managed to miss the forums for so long. The forum link (or any link for that matter) only show up on the front page which i never see 'caus I always arive at GP.com via the RSS feed.
I wonder if its not the same for others, who only see the pages without the forum links, and if you might want to add a link from the single story/comments pages?

How many submissions have been entered for the contest?
I am curious about what my chances are, essentially.
Has anyone here been working on a banner?

Both Major and Minor Pandralisk respectfully resquest that you increase the size of the forum link on the main page. Make a nice fat banner for it! It took us quite a while to spot it and register.
