I was wondering if anyone wanted to sign a petition I made for the ESRB to add a new rating:
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/ESRBT15/
I emailed game politics for publicity, but they recommended that I post it on the forums (you can see the message at the letter to gamepolitics page) so please take a look at and sign it

We don't like repeat posts, so I deleted you other message, which was the same exact thing in the Video Game Legislation section.

I don't much like online petitions, but since you asked nicley...

Not to be an ass, but does anyone really care about online petitions? I mean I think the only time anyone listened was with 2k games on Bioshock.

Well, I feel this catagory of T+ isn't needed. Its first confusing to the consumer, secondly the line between a T and M rating is fairly skinny, there isn't much gray area. The gray area is between M and AO.

I'm willing to debate that, I've played some M-rated games that don't feel very M, I mean Halo 1-3 for example would probably fit well in a 15+ range.

Under your system M would be T+ and AO would be M?

The issue isn't the ESRB, its the console makers and retailers acceptace of such AO ratings. By not accepting this rating, all your doing is forcing games to get rated M that probably still be rated AO.

Goen over this a few times
http://www.gamepoliticsforums.com/showthread.php?t=2889

The ESRB dose have one of the most coherent rating ranges of all the boards of the world however they are imperfect

EC(learning and crap for thos at or under 6)
E(6+ cartoon style silly games,puzzles)
E10(10+ stronger content than E)
T(PG13 level)

M15(15+ to take heavy PG13 and lite R games into a older teen slot, so games like Halo and Castlvina are not placed in a R level when they are not hard enough for that age range

M17 this should be fully equal to R not waffing between PG13 and R, with M15 you can relive stress off M17 and further R level games.

AO is teh ban hammer but if the console makers would back off it would be used for a few titles that are clearly above a real M17 rating.

You can get away with a Kid,teen, mature and adult levels but looking at the worlds childish reactions to adult having 2 teen levels make sense so much so alot of the Europe boards have M15 as their mature level but strangely stop at that.

We must show all that Adult just means that not porn or ""excessive"" its for adults and thus should be treated with the respect adults have earned to claim adults are offensive to family's and kids is a insult to people everywhere.

Signed.

There's certainly a world of difference between the exploding bodies in UT and green blood in Halo.

Would you believe there's similar pressure in the movie industry?

I miss gibbing so much.....so mnay FPSs have droped it for crappy rag doll effects...I need my bloody rain to relive stress.....

anyway.................

the ESRB wont overhaul itself but we can nudge it to take in M15 or T 15 this is a prefect slot for harder content but lesser gore title.
