http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/12035/POSTAL-III-to-Use-Valves-Source-Engine/

POSTAL III will include motion-captured performances by a wide array of celebrities – from film stars to Playboy Playmates – as well as a storyline that offers gamers vast latitude in terms of their behavior. "We've always maintained since publishing the original POSTAL that the game is only as violent as the player wants it to be and we're committed to expanding this unique form of gameplay in this next addition to the ongoing storyline," Desi vowed.

...

The player will once again be cast as the nameless "Postal Dude," the star of all previous versions of the game.

Wonderous. This using the Source engine means it is compatible with Garry's Mod 10.

And we all know the only way to make a game more horrific is to apply Gmod to it.

Here's the thing: if it's published by take-two, JT is going to be on this like....Bad Spelling in a Jack Thompson press release. Otherwise, he won't care and it will be just another small irony.

He was all over Oblivion for the same reason after that nude mod came to light.

On topic though, this sounds sweet. And if it's compatible with gmod, well, people can do some horrific things.

Hmmm, KN + Postal III + GMOD = I can't wait to see what comes out of this sin against humanity. ^_^

Now who wants to see what happened when I found some Dead or Alive characters that work in Gmod? And me playing with a portal gun and a bunch of female ragdolls?

The very thought puts me in a state directly between curiosity, foreboding, glee, and horror...

Alright (http://hobobucket.com/images/pron1.jpg). Obviously, this is the very first thing you do when you get something like this. The ragdolls actually came in their DoA getup, in DoAX swimsuits... AND topless.

As you can see (http://hobobucket.com/images/pron2.jpg) I accidentally shot (http://hobobucket.com/images/pron3.jpg) Kasumi while posing. This may just be random agression because of....

Posable tits (http://hobobucket.com/images/pron4.jpg). Because of this, it's very hard to position them with the physics gun from the front, as you will only move the jubblies, rather than their entire frame.

Luckily (http://hobobucket.com/images/pron5.jpg), thanks to creative camera angles, this picture doesn't look as sucky as it did in Gmod.

And now for something completely different (http://hobobucket.com/images/hugerobot.jpg). Also present was a giant controllable robot. I **** you not. You can make this thing walk and jump with thrusters. It can also fire LASER EYE BEAMS.

Now... let's play with the Portal gun, shall we?

Using my perverted mind and a portal gun, I opened a portal in the sky, and spawned a lot of ragdolls. I then opened the second portal beneath them, so they fall through the first one. The result is this rather eye-pleasing (http://www.hobobucket.com/images/korinpile1.jpg) pile.

Physics is fun (http://www.hobobucket.com/images/korinpile2.jpg)

Gordon Frohman approves this message (http://www.hobobucket.com/images/korinpile3.jpg)

yeah, that was fun back in Half-Life 2, taking the saw blades and slicing the headcrab zombies into little bits. Anyone else waiting for a Jack Thompson "press release" for this?

Since he doesn't do research it can go either way.

And honestly, I hope this one gets sold in stores for once. I can't find a copy of postal 2 anywhere. I did once at Gamestop, but now like I said, no where.

I don't think Postal III will be in stores. They're doing this on purpose so they can make the game as 'objectionable' as they want without fear of someone dropping it.

Sometimes you just have to love Steam, yaknow?

Yeah but I've come to really love Steam. It lets me buy games without leaving my house. That is convenience right there. :)

I think I will just have to pick up Postal 3 when it comes out. ^_^

meh, i don't like steam that much, especially since they screwed me on a used copy of half life i bought. They wouldn't let me change the CD key from the previous owners steam account to my own account despite reciting the cd key backwards, forwards, and sending it to them.

Though Postal 3 using that engine means fun times. Mayhem all around =D

A friend of mien came over a similar problem when buying the original Half Life collection from Wal Mar.t He had to buy it, again, from Steam.

My original HL never worked on Steam. Some ****er generated the exact serial that came with it, so I couldn't use it. Great fun >.>

Meh, whatever. If I really NEEEEED to play it I can always buy it from Steam. **** cd keys.

Steam is the greatest invention since torches, which allowed ancient man to safely play BF1942 well into the night.

Steam blows, when they make a simple offline mode where you can update and then set it to offline then and only then will I sign up,if not there are other ways to play their DRM'd games.

Shadow The Reaper
10-30-2006, 05:40 PM
Ya. The one thing that bothers me is that you can't really use it offline unless you turn it on when you are online. Kind of a nuisance especially if you either don't have internet or lose your internet.

How about when someone wants to play it on a labtop without wifi, or there internet goes out in the middle of a storm and they want to play with a gravity gun?

Shadow The Reaper

I'd like to play with your gravity gun. :P

....I'm sorry. That was stupid. :(

But ya. Not everyone can maintain a proper internet connection.

I dont know when 20-40% of the US is out of boardband areas, its either Sat or dialup both are slow and untable....
If board band was everywhere the PS3 or 360 would require being online all the time to function..that would be a pain.

Only if you never update or let steam taste the net..the funny lil bugger, once it tastes blood it can never get enough.

this is why I ahve yet to buy HL2 when it frist came out once you took 5 hours to let it update and then you tried to play it off line you could not,and they have built their system around no net no play, thier retail games in BOX can be played off line but once updated they can not, because steam has to hold your hand as you play...

In other words it's either let Steam dictate how and when you play or deal with glitches and bugs.

this is why steam vaguely fits into the Mal/Spy/Ad ware catagory you have little control over it.
Untill steam gets over itself and has a full acceptable updatable offline mode for at leasts its non download retail stuff I refuse t put up with there BS and wait on someone to FIX their dim ass game.

Well, there are various illegal methods in which you can patch HL2 to keep it from logging into Steam, and letting you play without it. I dont condone this, nor will I tell you how to do this, out of personal fear of meeting a mod

It not illegal when you OWN/PAID for the game.
