Nintendo forums are shut down (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/17/nintendo-shuts-down-official-forums-indefinitely/)
... and the fans are screaming. A visit to http://forums.nintendo.com/ will give you a statement that sounds suspicious. Scroll down in the comments at joystiq and read a comment by fawazr "Nintendo hates dissension. Anyone familiar with Nintendo's history is all too aware of their lust for control... it's premature to say just what this move means, but it's still telling that we all know Nintendo well enough to jump to the same conclusion."
But are they making a bigger deal then it really is? There are plenty of other sites that have a dedicated Nintendo's nest. Anyways, we could be looking at a simple site upgrade for security reasons. Of course, they could have just said that instead and never mentioned the word "indefinitely"
