Wrath of the Lich King (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/)
Here's what's been posted so far:
In the cold, harsh northlands...
The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. With the armies of the undead and the necromantic power of the plague threatening to sweep across the land, only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King's will and end his reign of terror for all time.

Blizzard Entertainment's latest expansion to World of Warcraft – Wrath of the Lich King – adds a host of epic content to the existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore a vast new continent, and battle other high-level heroes to determine the fate of Azeroth. As you pit yourself against the dangers of the north, prepare to:
Features

* Master the necromantic powers of the Death Knight - World of Warcraft's first Hero class.
* Quest to level 80, gaining potent new abilities and talents along the way.
* Learn the craft of spell augmentation with the new Inscription profession.
* Brave the harsh new continent of Northrend, the icy domain of the Lich King.
* Engage in epic siege warfare, deploying mighty siege engines to lay waste to destructible buildings in your path.
* Transform your hero's look with new character-customization options, including new hairstyles and dances.
* Explore perilous new dungeons filled with some of the deadliest creatures -- and greatest treasures -- on Azeroth.
* And much, much more...

Yay?

I liked WoW at first, but grinding to 60 was far too much, let alone 70. I can't even imagine wanting to play to level 80.

Lol death knight, great another class for people to say "We don't need a ret pally, we have a DK now. Get in the back and heal me!"

You have to get to 80 and then do a quest to roll a character that will automatically start at a high level? Sounds Weird but yet I am going to roll one when I can.

While this is cool, i don't think it will lead to me coming back to the world of warcraft....

Those are great features, but is there ANYTHING about pvp?

More on the Death Knight:
Information About the Death Knight [ 17 Comments ]
Print News
Blizzard wanted to get this information out about the Death Knight, check it out...

There are a lot of things still being worked out with the Death Knight class such as specific spell abilities. Unlike a traditional caster type however, a Death Knight's spell power comes from runes that are etched into their blade. Think Warcraft III when you think about the possibilities of abilities for the Death Knight. I say possibilities because things are still in process for the development of the class and there will be (of course) a lot of testing for balance done. Given that this is our first Hero class we're unveiling, you can be sure we're going for the coolest of the cool for this class.

Runes and Mana pool
The runes they inscribe on their weapons are their mana pool (of a sort). As they use their abilities, the runes will be exhausted. After a period of time the runes will refresh. So, they don't have a traditional type of mana pool. You'll most likely see some screenshots of it, but the Death Knight (at current) has three different types of runes that they can inscribe on their weapon: Blood, Frost, and Unholy. Runes can only be inscribed out of combat ( all of this is subject to change as development continues.)

The rune types don't dictate a new damage type, they're simply a resource that spells and abilities will use when you activate them. The spells and abilities won't necessarily be "blood, unholy, or frost" damage.

Imagine it being three different energy pools which you can change the size of before you get into combat.

About weapons
There's no final decision or announcement on how multiple weapons would be etched, or how weapon switching may affect the etched runes. What has been discussed to some degree is that the main-hand weapon would be etched and that's it, but it's too early to say what would be allowed in the final game.

Which level?
Also, we haven't decided on what level you will start as your Death Knight, but it seems that it should be easy enough for someone who has levelled a character to level 80 and done the quest to be able to adapt to a Death Knight fairly well. It's not quite the same as handing it over to someone who is still learning the game. There are lots of opportunities for someone to solo and group to learn how to play the class.

Which race?
It's true that the current plan has been heavily discussed to go ahead with all races, but no final decision has been made. After talking to Chris he wasn't totally sold on the idea. Both are technically correct in that the current plan of some of the developers is to go ahead with all races, there's been no final decision made and no real work has progressed to force a decision just yet. The FAQ is more accurate at this time, in my opinion.

Lore-wise there's really no reason why a specific race couldn't become a Death Knight.

All races can be challenged mentally and physically, their will dulled, and be cast down into madness ... and darkness. Their souls drawn into the runeblade they wield.

Compared to other classes
They are not planned to be more powerful, them being a hero class simply means they're introduced at a higher level, and in general will reference the more powerful hero types of Warcraft history.

It's our intention to integrate them into the current classes, balance them appropriately, and have them provide an additional - but equal - role in groups and raids as compared to other classes.

Will there be other hero classes?
Yeah, well that kind figures in to the new definition of what a hero class is. It allows us to add new classes that start at higher levels, keeping players relatively kept up as we continue to release expansions and raise the level cap, and ultimately it really fits to use the heroes from past Warcraft games as inspiration. Some other hero classes could definitely be things like Demon Hunter, Blademaster, etc.

Thanks

Apparently I heard that they will be able to be damaged by the Paladin's exorcism spell and by Holy Wrath as well, not to mention be feared by the Turn Undead spell. No word from the Devs yet if this is true, but I have seen arguements saying it is true since they will be considered scourge. I doubt it though because then a DK would be a paladin's bitch in PVP and there would more complaints then there already are to nerf pallys (I personally being a pally hate these.)

Well, when you can just throw up a shield right as I'm about to use Execute and heal yourself, damn right people are going to be pissed off.

Hey don't be hatin because he have bubbles. Preists have them too and I never hear crap about them using it. I hardly use bubble in PVP unless it is to get out of fear or some other crap of that sort. I can't stand when people use LoH in the middle of a fight, good job your opponent isn't below 60% life and you just wasted all your remaining mana to gain full life, you get to die slower now Yay! So man alliance pallys do that when I fight them, it makes me cry.

They can now be dispelled now, well when the next patch comes out that is.

Priests have bubbles because they are frail as ****. A Lolladin is a Warrior with a second, third and fourth life.

Second life maybe, third I can see if they use the bubble, fourth...well unless the fight lasts five minuets they cant bubble again. A paladin who uses LoH in a PVP one on one fight is a moron, congrats you just wasted the rest of your mana. Now unless your opponet is close to death you are screwed, because any pally without mana is ****ed.

Lol there are so many warriors that would be calling for your head because you compared them with us. Want to see a pissed of warrior, mention pallys are just warriors with heal spells. I am sad with all the hate I get from being a pally though and it is usually from warriors and preists. All I hear from them is Respec to holy and heal the real DPS class. Sad thing is I top their DPS charts 90% of the time, yeah Ret isn't a good DPS tree

Heh, that did piss me off. Warriors are close range DPS/aggro'ers with a ****-ton of debuffs and only a couple buffs. Pallys are basically turtles with healing spells and buffs.

Hehe Teenage Mutant Ninja Pallys :D. Yeah I love the buffs I can do as my paladin but as ret my heals suck and are huge mana drain. But then again as Ret if I am main healing something is seriously wrong. I piss warriors off a lot in groups because I will pull aggro off them, not like I mean too but for some reason Ret screams "Hey! Look at me!"

I'm really looking forward to the new expansion. :D It made me happy when I heard about it. It'll be interesting to see where they take the Shaman enhancement tree. (That's my primary character on Bloodhoof btw)

People are calling for the Enhancement tree to be more PVP friendly from what I heard. I only have a 17 Shaman who is Enhancement so I don't really know what the PVP of it feels like yet.

I'm not really sure about the whole PVP thing. I play on a normal rated server and I've never been into PVP at all. I just hope that its fun.

But PvP is where the fun is. Nothing like going out to level and killing a few dozen gnomes along the way :D
