The best John Carpenter horror is also one of my favorite survival horror games. Resident Evil 4 can go to hell!
The setup is simple. In a continuation of the events of the film (Without an explanation as to why it skips from the early eighties to present day), a military squad is sent to see just what the hell happened to the artic outpost in which Kurt Russell and co. battled an evil virus that could mimic another organism, and looked horrendous when changing inbetween. The key to survival in this game was ammo conservation, keeping the trust of your squad, and keeping them sane (this is the only game I've played that has this sort of psychological factor; if your buddies see the situation is hopeless, they'll splatter their brains all over the place) make this a very unique, and compelling addition to your underrated games pile.
