Why not both...if I can get either out at the PX, that is...

Can you pre-order at the PX? Also, how much does it cost? Also, can I join the armed services, buy a Wii and PS3 then leave in January or so? Maybe under the promise that I'll come right back as soon as Donnald Rummsfeld leaves?

Maybe I'll get um when my big fat tax return comes, or when I win the Hawaii State Lottery (which is ficticious at best).

'PSWii' sounds less awesome than Wii60.

Eventually, I want to get both (and end up with all three next-gen).

Though, which to get first is the big question.

Few games on Wii interest me but the downloadable NES/SNES/etc... games does. A lot.

A lot of games interest me for the PS3, but none of the other features do (don't play online, though free online is good).

I am in complete agreement. My eventual setup will comprise of the Wii and a 360. Six hundred bucks is just too much for a poor lowly college student such as myself. I don't care how pretty the games may be.

I want to get all three consoles as well but I'm going to wait at lest a year to get the PS3 for any better games for a start and also more then likely hardware problems with the first systems will be fixed by then.

Nintendo's new system there's only two games that caught my eye (Red Steel & Super Smash Bros. Brawl) but for the most part they need to convince me more to go out and buy one. And it did not help much when Miyamoto came out not that long ago and said in an interview that the Wii was in simple terms a modified Gamecube with a few enhancements added to it but for the most part it looks like Nintendo just reused quite a lot of the parts from the Gamecube to keep prices down. And the whole downloading old Nintendo games people can get for free by useing a Mac or Windows computer and get a few emalator programs and roms. It looks kind of dumb to pay around $5 (I think) for a SNES game that you can get at the ready by looking at a rom site on the Internet.

The Wii isn't just rehashed Gamecube parts. The hardware inside is 100% new, it's just not as powerful as the other two next-gen competitors. Nintendo, instead, focused more on unique gameplay then on graphics. As far as the graphics are concerned, consider it a Gamecube 1.5. Also, if you're still concerned, look at screen shots for Zelda: Twilight Princess. That game's graphics were not made any better for the Wii, that's pure GC power right there. The games coming out now are still early, as time goes, I can see the Wii's graphics going to great places.

You guys are planning to get both? You can't do that! Gamer rule #4 states that you have to pledge allegiance to one console and ONE CONSOLE ONLY! Then you have to bash the other consoles companies and games mercilessly. It is the law.

I've already got a 360, and next I'm shooting for the Wii...first, there's Twilight Princess, Red Steel, and Super Smash Bros. Resident Evil 5 was announced for Wii I believe, and I'm a huge survival horror fan, so I want it. Then there's the older games...the Wii's setup is a good, legal way to get the games again. Emulation is technically illegal due to copyright law for a period of up to 96 years or so after the product's release in America. While the idea of abandonware does apply, as well as the fact that the games are no longer in production and there is no way purchasing one will cause the original owner to gain money, it's still not entirely substantial in court. Also, with Nintendo charging money for the titles, the argument about not making money off the product becomes void. Most emulator sites I've seen have already removed their roms in preparation as well...so I'll have to pay 5 bucks for a new copy of FF6. Doesn't bother me.

I've got a 360 as well. I think I'm gonna get a Wii first. Then wait a looong time to get a PS3. Too expensive. $599 my buttocks. >_>

Maybe when the PS3 drops considerably in price, I might reconsider it. And like its predecessor, I will never willingly pay money for anything that Microsoft makes (until at such time they get their heads out of their proverbial a**es and begin to make things that I might actually like, and have business practices I can live with), and that includes the 360.

After all is said and done I'm likely to get both. PS3 for games like MGS4, new RPGs (since it seems like Microsoft is still going to be pretty scarce on them), plus backwards compatability is pretty important to me. The Wii because of the new Zelda, the virtual console, lots of cool innovative games too.

I hope they can emulate PS1 memory cards this time around. Mine are starting to fail...
