I've been looking into this one for a while, but I haven't heard anything about it for a while. If I'm not mistaken, it's going through Beta right now. So, if anyone has had some time with it, would you mind sharing? If not, I would still like to know anyone's thoughts on it, thus far.

I've heard of the hype but I haven't heard or seen anything to make me care.

I'm tempted but question how well it would perform on my system (especially as I am vista-less). If I ever get my 360 online (my computer just won't share the net!! Selfish thing) I might give the 360 version a go.

Set the router to favor whatever port your console uses.

Well, I like the idea of it having the character development single player before it goes onto the servers. I guess that's to flesh out whatever storyline it might have. Even though storylines and MMO's don't really mesh too well.
Is this going to be another of those Live Anywhere games?

OK so by Conan you mean like the Arnold movies? If so I am going to buy it and name my character Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnold. No stealing!

Well it's based on the books not the film (they state that a lot) so don't expect to see Arnie type characters but more gritty/pretty figures (depending on gender). It does have hilarious violence though.
I like the magic system, sounds like it could be great fun. Again I'll wait till I find out whether I can run it or not or get it for Live when I move to a new flat with my brothers router.

So I am still making Ahhhhhnold and since you can make your own cities I am going to run for warlord or lord or whatever their title is in the game of said city :D. I will be getting this for the PC.

I think you can actually have your own city (as in personal) but that may just be single player/utterly utterly wrong. I want to play a Lich and go about as a freaky bone thing smashing peoples heads in with dual wield maces.

Gonna raise a should-be-dead topic, but its still on the first page so meh.
They had it playable at GenCon Indy this year, man it looks AWESOME! The booth owned, so did the free stuff, but the game looks great. As soon as the CE is available I'm preordering it. You basically have 6 buttons for different swings of your weapons which you can create combos from, and EVERY enemy your weapon makes contact with gets damaged, not you target one and auto-swing. Its great :O Also the booth had shrunken heads, shirts and inflatable swords for free, so thats a plus too. I hear its going to have a good amount of PvP, and crafting/housing so I think its going to appeal to a lot of people, but its definitely M-rated, they made sure anyone who entered was 18 last I knew. Crazy eh?

Your gonna end up wanting to cancel your current preorder and put a preorder down on the collectors, there IS one coming out and I was told by someone working the booth it will have a bonus DVD or something, a metal coin from the game and all of your characters get some sort of experience bonus, so yea. Might be more, not sure. Think it was a 69.99 retail on CE I was told, and it would be announced Fall/Winter and limited to 60k units or something.

An interesting bit of news from the mmorpg.com folks.
"Fresh off the presses at the Games Convention in Leipzig, MMORPG.com has learned from a reliable source at Funcom that characters will be able to have sex and will receive a buff for the action. That is not to say, however, that there will be explicit sex in the game.
Anyone who has followed Robert E. Howard's creation knows that sex has been a prevalent theme in the Conan IP, which Funcom is doing their best to honor.
Age of Conan, as has previously been announced, will carry an "M" rating.
MMORPG.com will continue to follow this story as more specific information becomes available."

Gold farmers have found a new source of income from the spawn camping...
Also, if true, I cannot see hwo that is going to maintain a "M" rating with that.

I think this game will be awesome! I'm all for a mmorpg where you host a late-night talk show and interview dim-witted celebrities.

Well I don't think I will cancel it seeing as how with the one I ordered I get a free Mammoth mount :D and an extra item bag. I am not all jazzed about the extra bag but I am very happy I get a free Stampy.

if the game delivers half of what they've promised so far, it'll be awesome.
and you can make your own guild city without other people PvP-ing all over it. (NPC cities spring up around yours and you get to fight them instead)

True. I think the date got knocked back since they are making some changes to the classes. Which makes me sad because I was looking forward to being a Lich :(.

i'll be happy enough with the Lich's powers being rolled into the Necromancer (didn't see need for the both of them myself)
and having the Storm Druid + Scion of Set = Tempest of Set is peachy, too. that makes the archetypes have an equal number of classes each (3 classes per archetype = 12 total).
i heard some rumblings that they were going to do away with the Prestige Classes and just mix those abilities into the normal classes (or possibly races?).
