Anyone been playing this? I got a free 10 day trial pack when I went to Blockbuster and I have to say...I'm not impressed. It feels like I'm playing Spellforce in 3rd person mode and it just doesn't seem to grab me.

Are you actually enjoying it then? I just found it seemed devoid of substance.
I have no idea what server I'm on (I know its EN-RP) but I'm playing an Elven Champion

Its ok. Feels and looks a little kiddie. I like the combat system. I think the whole Morale(life) bar is silly. I rather die with a huge penalty then become an emo.
I guess this is just holding me down till pirates of the burning sea.

I'm enjoying LOTRO, been on it since closed beta, put the $200 for a lifetime membership down already. Its a lot less cartoony/kidish than WoW and I feel in a few months most of the talentless waste-of-oxygen noobs will run back to WoW learning this game is harder.
Warhammer I can't say anything good on. Mythic was bought by EA, EA has a bad track record. Its going to start good and get butchered hard every patch, and I mean hard. I'm talking prison buttsecks with Bubba hard. Later on down the line they'll go "HAY LETS MILK DIS CASHCOW MORZ!" and begin to sell in-game virtual items for real-life currency, problem is you'll need to buy these items to compete, see Ultima Online. This is why Mythic went to hell, thanks EA Games, you suck.

The warhammer alpha looks, feels and plays better then the lotro's final product. Dont get me wrong I like lotro. I thought it would suck. Theres only a few minor glitches that they need to fix. No bad for launch.

Ok I have to ask for all those who play. How many renditions of the name legolas have you seen?

No Legsolas so far, or any other variations, plus Turbine bans dumbasses with stupid names a lot it seems :D

I just think the games dull. I've played it for a couple of days now and there just isn't anything to grab me. It feels like Guild Wars but costs me money and the text is a nightmare in a crowded area. Maybe it's just because I feel like I've played it before.
Can't comment on Mythic pre-WAR as I haven't played Dark Age of Camelot but it still seems to be going pretty strong which I think gives hope for WAR's future. EA has a bad track record but it does have a few good games under it's belt and I'm not going to dismiss WAR as a failure until I see them screw up. So far WAR is looking much more appealing then LOTRO but then thats probably more to do with the Warhammer nostalgia as I've only really liked the LOTR films, never loved them (or read the books).

You forget: Games Workshop is already deviously good at milking cash cows. With EA, they will bring us to our knees.

Mythic did good with DaoC until they went "LOL THIS TREE GROWS MONEY!" LOTRO doesn't feel like Guild Wars at all to me, it doesn't feel like a Diablo clone that I paid more for, for less content. >_> Guild Wars couldn't keep me due to its very lackluster content, what little it had.

Well true, but Guild Wars was free so the lack of content wasn't really such a big issue. I never played DaoC (the free trial was for US only I believe) but I can't really fault a company for wanting to make money, they are a business after all. I'm sure WAR will probably end up with a lot of expansions (like all MMO's have) but these are all optional. No one ever forces you to buy the stuff and if they did...well I think there would be a great deal of backlash. Like I say with LOTRO, it just doesn't seem to have anything which pulls me in, which is odd for an MMO because I can get sucked into just about anything! Heck I was (still am actually) an Everquest 2 fan!

I just like WAR's real war all the time. Instead of WoW's raids.

Its not they made money, its they rushed things out, made poor choices and did their best to milk every cent they could. Also, Guild Wars is far from free, they want to get you to pay $50 per expansions at around 3-4 a year, and they are hoping you buy the even more pricey collectors editions.

Thats most likely going to depend on players, if people are as much of whiney little *censored* as they are in WoW and became in UO, you won't be seeing real wars.. and if its all NPCs that not a war.

I have a couple characters on Vilya around lvl 20 or so. I like the game and the music is fantastic, but somewhere along the line I lost interest and while there is a pull to get back in, the lack of being able to solo keeps me interested on other fronts.
