I plan on picking up a copy of Pearl eventually. I haven't touched the series since Crystal on the GBC. I figure it's about time I get back into it.

I got pearl version here, i didnt reserve mine either, i just happened to show up when the delivery guy came and 2 more copies of pearl were inside the box, so i bought up one of them before they had the chance to even tag it with a price XD
But on a more serious note, we should trade friend codes when everyone gets established teams and badge numbers. I have yet to get my code yet since my wireless network doesnt have wifi compatibility -.-
But i am currently at 4 badges with my top pokeman being a Kadabra at level 32 raised from level 5 XD

i keep hearing that Diamond is the more popular of the 2 version, sort of like how fire red was more popular to leaf green and so forth. actually i think its been like that since the start, one of the 2 games gets way more sales than the other but in the end though usually they always end up #1 and #2 overall still, just #1 is a good ways from #2, in this case Diamond tops pearl

I ended up reserving two copies. Diamond for me, and Pearl for Boffo. One day, when we actually can find a Wii at any of our local stores at all, then I will seek the battle colluseum as well, for kicks.

That's actually why I wanted pearl, since it's the lesser of the two in popularity it'll make trading for what I can't catch somewhat easier.

When searching for new pokemon in the global trade thingy, does it only let you search from ones in your pokedex?

the cool thing though is that whatever you put into the Global trade system stays in the global trade system and if someone trades it you get the traded pokemon when you log back into the GTS. Thats how I got my Alakazam, i traded an Unown for a Kadabra over the system from some guy that lived near Kyoto, Japan(at least thats where his DS was registered). And I like that you can tell exactly who your trading with in the world. I really dont like that fact that only a limited number of people show up in the trade list though =/
Any way I'm putting my old Kadabra up for trade into the GTS later today around 2pm my time today. ITs a level 40 Kadabra. Dunno what I want just yet, maybe a Haunter. So trade me if the name "Ovan" pops up in the list of trades.
That's actually why I wanted pearl, since it's the lesser of the two in popularity it'll make trading for what I can't catch somewhat easier.
Yea thats one reason why i bought mine Pearl version also. I mean where i currently work theres like 15+ Pearl Versions on the shelf and only like 3 Diamond. Those that get the less popular version tend to have it easier and better on trades because of the differences in pokemon appearances. So pearl owners really have free choice of who to go to to get certain mons and then diamond users have a select few to find the pearl exclusives.
Anyway my Nintendo WFC friend code for Pokemon is: 3565 8066 7049
someone challenge or trade me plz XD

As some of you may or may not know, I have the sometimes fanatical desire and need to "Catch 'em' All".
This was this week's target-
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/d/da/ArtFukamaru.jpg
Gible
National Dex: #443
Sinnoh Dex: #109
Type: Dragon / Ground
Species: Land Shark Pokémon
Height: 2′04″ (0.7m)
Weight: 45.2 lbs. (20.5kg)
Ability: Sand Veil
This is Diamond and Pearl's "That one super-rare super-powerful three-stage dragon pokemon that you have to level up 60 times before it's worth a ****". Or so I thought.
All my game and the internet would tell me is that it was located in a tiny cave underneath Cycling Road. Getting there was easy enough. Inside, I was greeted by pitch blackness, and the "Flash" move is no longer an HM, but a TM, a TM that I sold at the beginning of the game because it's a terrible move, and the fact that it's not an HM anymore must make it unimportant. So I spent three days running in circles around this goddamn ****ing ass dark cave filled with unavoidable trainers because the programmers did that cheap "Push the trainer into the back of a wall so you can't get around him" trick.
>:-( <-- This right here is for you, unknown Japanese video game coder. **** you.
When the third day arrived, I knew something was up. Nothing is this rare. So I had to go to the store and pick up a walkthrough to figure out what I was doing wrong, and I found out that yes, Gible is in that cave.
On the basement floor, which is only accessible from a second entrance next to the main entrance, only it's being obscured by a bridge because of the top-down camera. I hope you realize what this means.
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/8118/crzs6.png
Entrance A- Darkness, Rape
Entrance B- Light, no trainers, tripping over rare pokemon.
What it means is that the only way I could ever know the second entrance existed was to A, Read a guidebook, which is basically cheating, B, Push "forward" against every obscured floor tile in the game world, or C, possess some sort of clairvoyant precognition.
When I finally get into the basement, Gible was literally the second thing I ran into. Thanks Japan, for wasting three days of my life.
