Dammit, it always kind of disgusts me to see how long it takes people to go to trial for their crimes.

Makes me kinda wish that the whole Pheonix Wright "three-day limit" thing was a reality.

But then, that would have its own share of problems too.

I just checked Wikipedia for info.
The 3 day limit sets a limit on how long the trial lasts, not how long it takes to go to trial.

I think the time to go to trial should be short, but the length of the trial shouldn't be limited.

I also think that if a person is caught in the act and arrested then and there, that you should face trail no more than 30 days later. Suspects who have to be tracked down, investigated, etc, then a longer period of time should be allowed. We don't want to increase the number of falsely imprisoned individuals due to going too quick. But there are a great many individuals, such as this kid, who are caught during or right after they commited the act. Those should be handled fairly quickly unless there are circumstances requiring a longer delay.

Well, every trial in Phoenix Wright takes place a day after the crime, so that's still not much use.
