I have beaten 1 twice so far in the past 5 years,so I am starting with 2 I rented it a couple times but never paid allot of attention to it so far the levels and story seem thrown together and he dosent seem to have any moves yet just acouple of the same weapons, its reminding me of Onimusha only hes better at fighting crowds and dodging where as Onimusha is better at 1 on 1 or 2 on 1, really the devs need to get together play god and war for soem incite and build a better "engine"

GOW has great single and multi combat, exploring is so so,dodging is so so.

DMC has godly jumping and dodging (at least DMC2) and descent juggling.

Onimusha has nice single combat and flinch instant kills.

I really wish both Oni and DMC had GOWs auto absorb soul EXP,having them linger and time out is annoying.

Speaking of the 3 great Action adventure games Konami needs to learn from them because Castlvina fails.

I never liked DMC that much. Too much thumb pain with too little payoff. Onimusha's much better. Especially 1&3.

Hows Dawn of dreams? Cant be worse than 3......

DMC 1 was advanced RE,or RE with working melee combat.

DMC2 seems to be a bland mindless cash in title

DMC 3 is suppose to be good(SE at least)

Oni 1 is good for a samurai RE,Oni 2 is Oni 1 only better Oni 3 is best but lacking(at least the crappy US voiced one.)

Just got threw with DMC2 dante side,I gotta say small improvements where made to the static cam points and the large environments are nice to as well as his model movements in dodge and fighting very nice, screwing around with the moves is a bit annoying I have having to hold lock to pull some off ,I'd rather have moves accessed via the Dpad or general single/double tap with the analog pad.

This game is really missing a STORY a skill ladder of learning new moves the weapons are not varied enough and don't power up well they really should let you upgrade a weapon 6 or so times the final 3 being 80K 100K and 130K least it gives you a reason to fool with hard and extrema mode,I kinda wish they made a seaqule to this him finding his way out of the dark world but give it a more adventure theme like casletvina where you can revisit places but have and learn new skills and such
In all the levels, camera and dodging level up
The monsters, fighting, story and over all gameplay level down...

What do you call the progression type for levels in DMC2, they are rather disjointed, arcade comes to mind?

I haven't played DMC since the first one, so I'm looking forward to DMC 4 coming to the 360.

Zippy, you're right in saying the 3D Castlevania's suck, but the 2D iterations still rock.

DMC 1 uses RE to jump into a action based game, DMC 2 slops together stuff and feels weak, I played a bit of DMC3 SE and its solid like DMC1 but only better :P

I dunno I played Dawn of sorrow a week or 2 before my DS gave out it was ok but not on the level of SOTN I think Kanomi has fallen into a rut hell before SOTN it was in a rut, it seems they only build from their better titles ignoring where they have been and even then they have a short memory span.

I hope the next 3D Castlevania is good not just shallow slop.

Portrait of Ruin for some reason just doesn't feel like Castlevania, but it's adequate enough.

I think they are going for uber generic side scrolling action RPG they need to slow down and create a good CV world and new hero and skills....

Like hollywood they take a idea change it till their satisfied with it and run with it till they get bored with it and then try and reinvent it again I guess thats a good example of the human attention span but I am getting sick of it...a good example of aging :X

It seems to me the industry is focused to much on quick cash in and not enogh on making balanced and fun games.
