Gaia: Is it a game?

Well, is it? Or is it just a forum with customizable avatars? If Gaia isn't a game then is Second Life? Second Life is just Gaia with less animu and more furs that has a 3-d interface.

It might qualify as a web game... but to me, it's just a game (or series of games) with a forum attached.

I ask because Hecker got me thinking about PC games and art and since most people play PC games that don't stress the proc/GPU much does that mean they're made of fail? Since Supreme Commander can use quad core processors for its AI does that mean it's art?

Art is completely subjectiv.e if you think supreme commander is art, by all means, do so. I consider the older games art as well, and simpler games.

Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango...****ING MASTERPIECES! And yet, you ask Mr. Hecker about them and he'd tell you they're ****ty pieces of **** for piece of **** computers.

I use to use gaia alot. There was nothing special about it. Just a avatar with you can customize. One of the ways to earn money for clothes is posting. So it as a very active forum.

I didn't get into PC gaming till 97 or so,I am not a huge fan of adventure games even tho I loved them on the console(out of this world,fade to black,lost generation)

Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango I ahve seen soem off ya they are art,I would like to elect Unreal or Strife as a mid 90's FPS art.

AM I the only one here that played Strife,hint built off the Doom 2 engine :D
