I got ti for 6 and tossed it in and started to aply it so far I am amazed it has AHELL of allot more work put into it that UT0X.

Preview
Controls sadly they felt that button mapping is a bad thing on the up side they understand the needs of a south paw "alitle" when you,jump it bounded to A and the L3 so even in southpaw mode I can jump.

Auto aim can be removed so I can have full control over the aim and the aim system is alot smoother than halo.


Weapons
Melee weapons are by race (at least so far) you go into a 3rd person mode to use melee weapons ALLOT like Jedi Knight

they have done some changes to some weapons
Melle from swords to staffs to fists and wrist blades depending on who you chose you get a assortment of abilties.
(now that I think if this had a character builder soemthign like COH/COV and gave you the ability to make a a character the way you want it in Enforcer/blaster alt fire,Melee alt fire,melee weapon and such this or UT3 could be a hellishly evilly fun game)

Dual Enforcers:normal mode is a slow fire alt mode is by race/character
from a draining holding blast to a freezing blast and others its tied to adrenalin

Bio rifle has jiggly bouncey goo,alt fire is no longer cluster
Stinger is a minigun with slow TRACKING energy projectiles
Shock rifle like the ADSM but fires electric balls instead
Sniper rifle:normal slow blullet sniper rifle
Rocket launcher:standard UT0X 3 fire
Grenade luncher:grenade/mine
Rip jack(Razor jack): is back,slicing heads better than ever,alt fire is a kind a generic exploding blade!

I am impress with this even tho what I have played(instant action CTF) sets you to 3 weapons and have mixed what ammo can work in what,even the grenade and biorifle are the "same" weapon use the same model only changes out the color.

Need to play it lots more to flesh out the weapon balances and such but I am amazed its better than 03 0-0

You forgot my personal favorite: the Flak gun.

As for control "smoothness", UT/UC are hyper-paced multiplayer games. Halo is slower and forces you to concentrate and work to get a good shot.

I'm so glad they brought back the buzzsaw launcher. It's weird how its name changes in every game though. It went from the Razorjack to the Ripper to the Ripjack. I like Gorge's new character design too, but I wish he still had his hunchback armor that covered his head.

Halo is not that much slower(if UC is 100% Halo is 80%),also if you change the sensitivity around allot you will find Halo has a odd fine aim around the dead center and faster turn on the edges its just something I can not get my head around.

Maybe its my head its been known to fool "fool proof" things :D

I think UT was hurt most by breaking up the team or project for console only and PC only it seems almost the same for Quake 4/Quake wars but then again I have to play quake wars I wonder if they have weapon "upgrades" like in Quake 4 only something you have control over.

The game itself

Story pretty good ahell of allot more than 03/04 almost more than U2 if you can believe it.

Graphics
Take 04 darken them abit then add bloom,you ask me this is the prefect game engine for Jedi knight,the color the look and effects OMG JK on this would be insanely awesome!


Getting to the nitty gritty now


Again south paws are diminished,its rather hard to get off a aimed jump attack in south paw mode you have to aim,jump and hit B makes it slightly annoying,wall jumps are aggravating as wellthe L/R 3 buttons are not the most presisce of things.

Melee combat changes normal FPS rules,mainly because 3-5 hits to kill witch is not to bad you can go full melee with the adrenalines you pick and dominate a match unless THEY picked isnta kill weapons

Weapon's are lacking not in the design but in the chosing you have to pick the 2 weapons to take to a match,you get melee and basic range weapon regardless of what you chose...
the charge time on the basic range weapon and tis hold time are pitiful (it takes 4 secs of holding a button to get them to charge then you get maybe 5 secs to fire them before they fire,I miss ambushing with a full load of hot death....)



MK style finish's
well...I dunno want to say...prehaps they are trying to much at once I think tis unneed you can finish off someone when they are frozen/in stasis Y-B-left-A- L+R

So far the game is a mix of 3rd and first person ideas it waters down the polish some but the game still has more luster than the PC offerings,I wonder if any of the devs on this one worked on Gears of war,the more I play this the more UT0X seems to be left overs from UT99 and other projects...

just wait till UT 3 comes out, the game looks freakin sweet, though, ive noticed that there some confusion on its launch platform,

as long as its better than UToX they have killed that brand good.

the 360 is not hard to port to I don't see why they just wont get it done along with the PC hell the 360 is PC like.
