Has anyone on here had technology that has withstood the test of time? I don't just mean say the SNES or NES or even Genesis, i mean just a pice of tech that by all means should have died off years ago, but still works just as well as whe nit came out of the box.
For me, it's the keyboard I'm typing with right now. i've had it since my famiyl had our first IBM PC tower I thknk maybe ten years ago, and it still works perfectly. I've had other keyboards, but this one just, feels right, and it has never once failed me, well, maybe once when the spacebar got stuck, but I cleaned it, and it worked well once again. I even used another keyboard and put this one away, and the other one broke down. I mean, this keyboard is ancient, and it stil lworks perfectly.
As for this thread, I didn't know where else to put it.

Much like cars they don't make things that last, like the Media Mafiaa they want you to rebuy stuff,I still think a Innovative car company could produce a car thats strong and fast(max 60ish MPH) incredibly cheap 5K,and has generic parts that can be easily switched out if you have the tools and the 300LB ratcheting rack that can hold a transmission or a engine.

Then I dunno how my keyboard and speakers have held on so long. Hell, I went through five portable CD players in one year of school and this keyboard has just lasted since I first had a computer.

well if it was made 10ish years ago then they were made during a better time when the corporations were not heavy into high fail rates and rebuying stuff.

My great-grandfather passed along an old Magnavox or Sony TV to my parents when I was young. It was made in 1977 and we used it until 1999. Still worked, we gave it to some college kids at a yard sale.

And the stuff that comes with a PC generally tends to be better made.

I had an old Mitsubishi that I think had about the same Lifespan till I got my Sylvania flat screen. We donated it to a thrift store if I remember right.
My grandparents' washing machine. I believe it is over 35 years old and it still works.
Theory?

Hell yea Genesis. My Genesis dates back to the week the system came out, the true epitome of old-school in that context. Guess what? Still works perfecctly. I hadly ever have to blow into my catridges either, its pretty sick. I love my Genesis, always have and always will.

I never knew WTH was wrong with the NES to make it loading a game fail 20% or so of the time, and BTW SNES works just as well as the genesis now adays :P
CD consoles are the most fickle things they either last or they dont.
